Reasons for that is a lack of money and because top players do not wish to play in a poor league. A move to the prem would change both of those problems.

I don't want them either mind.
But how much money were they getting when they had Gazza and Laudrup?

I dont think the SPL was particularly lucrative then either, was it?

Those were the days before the transfer market suddenly went mad as sky high tv deals came in.

Back in 1995 I think £5m for Chris Sutton was the record transfer fee paid. Those were the Rnagers halycon days of Laudrup. Those were also the days when someone like David Moores could afford to pay record transfer fees - Dean Saunders, later on Stan Collymore.

It was also only a couple of years prior that Rangers knocked out Leeds and narrowly lost out to Marseille and missed out on a European Cup final spot.

      Times change.
      Forwards.......

Spose. It was still the Premiership era, with more money in football than ever before. But it's got wildly inflated nowadays, yeah.

If this 2 x 18 PL happens. Celtic and Rangers would never make it out of the lower division. If they want to join the English league system they should be made to play through all the other lower leagues like every other team.

Basically, they can go **** themselves.

Think it's funny that they included spurs in one of the teams against it, wasnt that long ago that they were battling it out at the bottom,

i think bar the top 4, villa, everton and spurs everyone else should be for it as if they have a bad season they could easily go down.

Would the Scottish FA/Scottish Premier league not also have to agree with it? Or can teams freely move from one league to another? Because if Celtic and Rangers left yes it would create a more competitive Scottish league but no one would be interested and Scottish football would be even more of a joke than it is now. Celtic and Rangers must account for the majority of all the revenue in Scottish Football so I can't see the SFA/SPL welcoming it
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
