Which position do we need to strengthen most?

In fact, lets say which three, and why... Should be interesting to see if people still think our defenders are all rubbish.

my three:

Left midfield.

I really think Rafa wanted Barry to play there, and will try for him again. Riera is totally unsuited to the pace of the Premier League. Id like to see us get a tricky winger, but there are few who can cross well, and we are hard up.

Up front

We need a target man of some description. Torres is good in the air, but I believe we need another option who can do something a bit different... Bring back Crouch (okay he cant head the ball).

Im a bit torn. I think we lack real quality in both fullback positions, although I think both Aurelio and Arbeloa are both decent. Insua looks good too, and we have no real cover for the right, so I reckon we can strengthen here too.

My order of priorities:
1. Cover for Torres. Without him we're screwed. Don't care if it's a donkey target man who makes us play long ball, don't care about finesse anymore, I just want a forward who can actually get the ball in the frickin net, consistently, other than Torres. In fact I'd quite like a long ball merchant to be honest, it gives us an extra option when we can't get through a packed defence.

2. RW. Kuyts a workhorse, but not a natural winger, we need someone who can go at defences. Benny is great back-up but often struggles against top defences.

3. LW. Personally I rate Riera and reckon he's gunna be great when he fully settles. But we do need back-up then we can get rid of Babel.

4. RB. Again, back-up needed.

Not really so much a position that we need to strengthen, as much as needing to add another world class matchwinner, a super-hero type to rescue us when Nando and/or Gerrard are out or not on form.

One more of those, and we'll win the title next season.

I suppose you'd have to make a case for said player to be a wide midfielder/winger/wide forward.

LW - RW AND STRIKER

left wing - basically if riera is out and rafa continues to overlook babel then we need cover/competition for riera.

right wing - same as above. if kyut is out then although benni can play there he is more suited to a central role and cuts in way too much.

stiker - torres injured we're ****ed. ngog hasn't got it (yet) and again babel gets overlooked.

LW - an out and out winger who runs at pace and can cross ( anyone but ****ing ****house gareth barry ) or david silva

RW - personally i hope we sign aaron lennon. he's come onto a great game of late and is english.

STRIKER - wishful thinking but daivd villa. failing that i've heard we're interested in santa cruz (???) so he'd do.

Id be more than happy for us to have this ugly cunt as our ONLY singning this summer but I aslo get the points about back up for Torres.

I'd like to see a player capable of playing either wing with pace and a bit of trickery to replace Babel.
With that sorted in no particular order we need a right back, a more dynamic 4th option in central midfield and a reliable alternative striker.

I don't think we should mess with the Torres/Gerrard partnership, it works too well.

Defensively I think we need improvement as I'm not convinced about any of them to be honest. Carra's not as good as he was and seems to be losing out a lot more often, I don't rate Skrytel high enough to be at LFC as a starter and Agger has potential but needs to prove himself. We need a commanding central defender in his prime to take control whilst both Agger and Skrytel develope. Terry or a risky Ramos?

If Babel is off, we also need to add another winger to provide balance. Robben is premiership proven and would be a superb purchase.

1. We need a good alternative to Torres, or someone who can complement him for the occasional change of system.

2. A central midfielder - know it might sound ridiculous with the numbers we have, but with Rafa usually playing 3 of them we need more quality. Lucas weakens us a lot when he plays, and Alonso mascher is almost irreplaceable right now.

3. A new right winger that can take on someone on his own, we are to reliant on getting through the middle I think. Dunno if a new left winger could be good, can't really figure out if Riera is going to cut it or not...

But we do already have a quality team. Could use another RB as we don't have good backup for Arbeloa, but mainly I see squad rotation players are needed.

definitely need someone as cover for torres and have to get an option for the right to change things when its not happening for kuyt.....

a player who can play on both wings like silva would do nicely.

silva, glen johnson and fcuk knows up front, although silva can cover all 3 positions maybe ?

For me, its got to be our league position. Strengthen that and the rest will take care of itself.
