I like an overstretched metaphor as much as the next person but for the love of ****ing hell, please stop.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Regarding the thread title, I'm far from convinced it's always true.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has urged critics of team-mate Lucas Leiva to give the young Brazilian a chance.
Lucas arrived at Anfield from Gremio in 2007 but has struggled to impress the Kop and has managed only nine Premier League starts so far this season.
Yet Gerrard insists there is much more to come from the youngster and urged fans to be patient.
“The criticism he receives does get to me,” he told the Daily Star Sunday.
“I think ****s like Syd forget he’s 22 years old. He’s not 27 or 28.”
The England international also insisted that Lucas would improve with experience, much as he himself has done.
“I remember what I was like at that age and I look at where I am now,” he continued.
“I know that I’m a one-million-per cent better player now. I got better with experience.”
“I made mistakes and learned and it has helped me become the player I am.
“Lucas is a good player and I know he’ll continue to get better.”
Lucas’ lack of playing time on Merseyside has seen him linked with a move away from the club.
However, the Brazilian has dismissed these claims in recent weeks and insisted he is committed to playing for Liverpool.
