If Barry's coming in, I can't see how he'll stay.

What? He did really well today, covered the back line really well and distributed it well.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostThought he was very weak again today, gets pushed off the ball to easy for a lad his size. Needs to get in the gym for the summer. Eat some snickers, Get some Nuts! type of thing.

He was good today, won plenty of tackles and can only remember him losing the ball twice, one went straight out of play and the other he won back immediately. Some people wont be happy unless he performs like Zidane, he's a 3rd choice midfielder, he isnt going to be world class. For someone apparently so crap we dont half win a lot of games with him in the team and its not just against ****e either.

Fair point. I suppose its not fair to compare him to the rest of our midfield.Originally posted by Chris View PostHe was good today, won plenty of tackles and can only remember him losing the ball twice, one went straight out of play and the other he won back immediately. That would matter if he was playing in the hole, and would matter if we needed a goal.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostHe was invisible today. Did nothing right or wrong. I don't understand how that was a good performance. All of our attacks bypassed him.
He was very good today. Someone said he was weak - Rubbish. He was very strong on the ball and played very well. He's not a game changer like an Alonso but to expect that of a young lad would be folly. He's hardly Cesc Fabregas, who is one in a million.Forwards.......

the point is, if Lucas was a more talented, perhaps older more established player, there's no way he'd be content with the bit part role he has at present.
And if Lucas is sold and Barry is brought in to fullfill the role of not-first-11-but-sub-or play-when-either-Alonso / Mash-are-injured/suspended, I can see him making sulky looks from the bench and teary emails to Martin O'Neill within 5 minutes of the season.
Ooh the drama.

Yep that was me! He was knocked off the ball to easy today, when he runs into a defender the defender comes out with the ball. He needs to be a bit tougher and show a bit more aggression and stand his ground more. I also think he has a future with us, like I said he is still young, Id just like to see a bit more fight in the dog, Thats all.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThat would matter if he was playing in the hole, and would matter if we needed a goal.
