Yes and now is not the time to do that especially when Lucas is a much better player.

Good performance from Lucas again today, did exactly what was required of him.

He's not Stevie, he's not Mascher and he's not Alonso - and he never will be. But every player has their own function in the side and Lucas is performing his very well.

Not flashy, nothing spectacular, but sat in the middle and kept things ticking along, played it simple and kept things moving.

          Well in.

Lucas does extra training everyday with his own personal trainer, paid for by himself. He is trying to build up his upper body and his leg strength. Judging from his recent performances the sessions are paying dividends. Give the lad some appreciation.

If that is true he deserves a great deal of credit and patience.

If this is true, which I have no reason to doubt, he has just won another season in my book.

I give every player at least one complete season in a red shirt before making judgement, some need longer like Lucas but if Babbel did the same, he would get a years stay of execution as well

It sounds like he`s really trying, he says all the right things as well.
But I find it really strange he has to pay for it himself. I would have thought that the club payed for this.
Either way I`ve always liked Lucas, he`s always trying. I rather have a limited player trying, than a talented one just floating around.

Where did you hear that? I find it hard to believe.

I believe he's doing extra training, but a club the size of Liverpool will have world class gym equipment and training staff at Melwood (you would have thought) and you would expect every player to be on tailored training programs...

He lives next door to a client of mine who also knows his Agent. The information is 100%.

Interesting info and very commendable if true, I have always been very impressed with his attitude. It's certainly the right for him to focus on. I must admit he has seemed a little stronger on the ball recently, if he can improve that aspect of his game I do think he's a player with quite a lot of potential.

If I use the comparison with Kuyt of last season and Kuyt of this season you can see how low confidence can have a huge impact on your form. The lad took a lot of (mostly OTT) stick this season, for a young lad like that it can be very harmful. He has slowly built his confidence since then. If can get another goal before the end of the season he could have a very good season next time out.

That is of course assuming we don't ditch him to bring Barry in

I still don't rate him very highly. We should sell him.
