Some facts to cheer you up..................

Last May, Manchester United won this corresponding fixture 0-2 at the JJB, and thus gained the points they needed to retain the Premier League title. Twelve months later, Wigan again entertain a Red Devils outfit, this time in need of four points from the last nine available to claim a second hat-trick of Premier League crowns, and an 11th title in this league.

If United avoid defeat here they could clinch a record-equalling 18th English top-flight championship, home to Arsenal on Saturday or away to Hull on Sunday week.

United have won their last six Premier League games; Wigan are chasing their first win in six.

This is the 150th Premier League game, and 75th at home for the Latics, who are still searching for their first Premier League victory over a member of the 'Big Four'.

The two managers, Steve Bruce and Sir Alex Ferguson, share the same birthday (31 December), but were born 19 years apart. Both were appointed to their current clubs in the same month (November), 21 years apart.

Bruce, who is 48, has never beaten his old boss as a manager. He has drawn two and lost 10 of 12 games against Ferguson's United, when in charge of either Birmingham or Wigan, 11 of those being Premier League games.

Ferguson has only been beaten five times in 55 Premier League matches against clubs managed by one of his former players.

Manchester United have won all eight league and cup matches they have played against Wigan.

Wigan are definitely due a win then. It does seem that Fergie's ex-players are happy to hand the points over to United without much of a fight from their team. I will be happy if Wigan at least make an effort and attempt to beat them, if Fulham can beat United then so can Wigan.

ManU then lose on the last day of the season at Hull, who need the 3 points to stay up in front of their own fans.

Liverpool win their remainingg games, winning the title on goal differance!
...with the magical arshavin in their side, it wouldn't be impossible.
I think the scenario you mention is the only scenario remotely possible. And I do believe it can happen. It would be all based on the shock of losing to Arsenal when only needing a point, and suddenly becoming vulnerable just like when we beat them at Old Trafford.
It would be unbelievable, still live in hope, which is a huge achievement by the team, that us fans can, at this stage, STILL do that.

I'll be incredibly surprised if United get less than three points on Wednesday night.

How much of an incentive for Old Bent Nose to bend over for Ferguson and make our title record?

I dreamt we won the league a few weeks back, won it at the death as well.
I will still cling to the hope, but realistically our chances are slim to zero, but hey who knows what can happen!

Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"

That would indeed be a brilliant time to fire up everyone. Go Rafa!

I could bore you all with reasons on not to give up, but if you don't understand why by now you probably never will. I've loved football all my life and have seen far stranger things happen in football than what is required for us to win the league. This is football. We are Liverpool FC.

The chance is small, but the chance is their. I will not give up until the final whistle has gone in a game meaning United win the title.

At least teh ****ers had to do it the hard way. Cost them the FA cup at the very least.

If Wigan manages a draw, the game against Arsenal is gonna look much harder for them.

It ain't over till it´s over

United will win at a canter tonight. Bruce always bends over dutifully for Fergie. Did anyone read the gushy piece Henry Winter has in the papers today? It'd make you puke.
