2 major world class signings would do wonders with definitely one on the wing, but the other could be either a centre back or striker.

Who though? That is the question...

The likes of Ribery and Kaka are out of the question, whereas the likes of Robben and Eto are a possibility

If we signed a right back and an attacking midfielder and no one else for the first team would people be happy?

Would the attacking midfielder be able to play in the wide positions?

Also, it would depend who we sold as well.

Yes to the first question. Assuming no sales from the first team.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that we might not see a lot of action - given Rafa's talk of Babel as one of the players with potential and his agent, in contrast to everyone elses, seemingly keen on him staying. Maybe selling fringe players and those already out of the squad last year - Voronin, Hammill, Anderson, Leto etc.

              Okay.

Well it would depend on the quality of the att. mid. and the RB, but let's assume they would go straight into the first team.

I'd probably say yes really. It still may leave us a little short up top, but then if Babel can prove himself more in that position then he would be ideal cover.

To be perfectly honest though I'd probably be happy to keep Arbeloa anyway.

I think we may need an experienced centre back for the fourth position there, as if we had the odd injury in that position we wouldn't really want to have to rely on San Jose or Kelly for example in an important CL game.

I think the squad showed last season how good they can be, and so for me continuity is the most vital thing for us. Add a little bit of fine tuning and we'll push all the way for the title IMO.
