Have always been brought up with the saying "Keep your Friends close, but your Enemies even closer" I wouldn't read anything into what he had said... I for one think he'd be rooting for a Barca win like all of us are... but if he came out and said that he'd get a shed load of greif... he gave the easiest reply he could... I am sure he does has friends in the Manure Team, Rooney and Ferdinand etc... but the difference between us and Gerrard is we don't play in the English National Team. Gerrard would not want to look like a trouble causer to Capello - so like, I've said he gave the best answer he could... the last thing we want is a huge rift building up before the start of next season... we know we can beat Manure - they know we can beat them as well....

Give Gerrard a break... I'm sure in all honesty he'll be with Carragher next wednesday watching the game... Supporting Barca!

Who gives a **** who Gerrard wants to win. For me it's Barca all day long, but I suppose if I had some good mates playing for the Manc Scum I'd have a think. Then I'd still want Barca to win.

But each to their own I say. At the end of the day it matters not who Gerrard wants to win, and it probably looks better on our club if our captain publicly backs the English side, despite the great rivalry.

My guess though is that Gerrard doesn't give a toss who wins it. If he aint winning it I doubt very much he cares.

I remember when we knocked Chelsea out in 2005 John Terry said a similar thing, and many LFC fans were praising him for doing so. At that time the rivalry between LFC and Chelsea was building and it was a nice gesture for Terry to wish us luck.

i saw the interview on setanta the other day, he looked very tipsy and was outside a party in the cannes film festival where he was supporting some mates who had a film out.
