You're right actually, what confused me was the fact that the same 'weekends' correspond in a home/away sense.

I wish next season started tomorrow.

With the right signings we will win it.

If Keane had been the right signing we'd have won it this year.

I agree 100% with that. The signing of Dossena was poor but thankfully Insua bailed us out there. Riera started brightly but faded, first year so I'll lay of just now. He did a good enough job.

But Keane was the biggest loss. Had he stepped up to the mark we would have cruised the title. The reason we didn't was because Torres or Gerrard were missing at vital times. With someone of sufficient quality to cover we'd be champions. So the Keane flop cost us the title.

We have to get that particular signing right this summer. If a winger comes in and flops we can get by. If a right back comes in and flops we can get by. But if an attacking player comes in and flops we will not get by.
        Forwards.......

          already?!

          ****ing hell

as for the original poster , yes the arsenal fixture was unfortunate for us in terms of us facing them before man u did but imagine if we had a tough away game after every cl group stage game? imagine if we had to face the whole top 10 aaway from home in the first half of the season?

and man u also had a much harder run in than us, we couldnt complain about last seasons set up, lets hope for similarfor this coming season.

a wholly expect us to get ****ed over big time on the fixture list, we were to close this time, i expect measures to be put in place to ensure this unfortunate accident wont occur next year

i think if we get 86 points next year it will be enough. we really are only 2-3 players away now if we can keep everyone fit.
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

The symmetrical thing is a good idea, but the way they decide games on TV in Spain is a joke.

The fixtures are known for a particular weekend, but which games start at 8pm Saturday, 10pm Saturday, 5pm Sunday, 7pm Sunday and 9PM sunday arnt decided until midweek before the weekend! Would be chaos in England with the large amount of travelling fans here.

All the games there are on TV though, either PPV, subscription channels and 1 game per week which is on free TV. This season has been slightly different in that regard due to a huge "war" over the TV rights.

Lads, lest we forget that the fixture list has to make its way to slur alex's office before they are announced!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

I dont think we'd have our signings sorted by tomorrow

I know what you mean though, summers are poor without an international competition and i wish the PL season was starting the week after the cup final.

Right, 3 days to go then.

What would be your perfect opening 6 games?

                        1 - West Ham (h)
                        2 - Hull City (a)
                        3 - Portsmouth (h)
                        4 - Blackburn (a)
                        5 - Bolton (h)
                        6 - Sunderland (a)

or if we hadnt signed keane at all and kept Crouch!!!!

Whe torres was injured, crouch would have been a perfect stand-in.....doh!!!

Have to admit, i always liked Crouch - when he played, he generally scored (aside from his 18 game settling in period ).

But we had no choice, he wanted first team football and his contract was going into its last year.

I'd prefer that as our last 6 games, I wouldn't mind getting a big away game out of the way early on.

I'd rather an easy start to get ourselves right up there and then as the confidence builds, the harder games come along once we're in full swing.
