Not necessarily a promoted side, but yeah, we always get an away game which should normally be easy, but is tricky due to the first day of the season giving no-mark teams unwarranted belief and optimism.Originally posted by Joe King View PostWe will get some promoted team away like Burnley who will make it tricky with their new found confidence.
Mancs are always at home to either a promoted team, or someone non-threatening like Newcastle or Fulham.

You mean like we won and they drew last season.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostNot necessarily a promoted side, but yeah, we always get an away game which should normally be easy, but is tricky due to the first day of the season giving no-mark teams unwarranted belief and optimism.

I'd be happy with someone like Burnley who try to play football. You can make a case for just about any team being difficult but realistically year on year our problems come against the teams who will pack their defense. Playing a team of low quality added confidence or not who attempt to play in an attacking style should be a good opportunity for 3 pts for us.Originally posted by Joe King View PostWe will get some promoted team away like Burnley who will make it tricky with their new found confidence.
Cheers that is interesting.Originally posted by Reece View PostInteresting article on how the fixtures are put together. Don't think it's already been posted on here:

The concept of randomly and fairly designed fixture lists is a myth. Not saying it's right or wrong, but the level of manipulation is massive.
No big games ever seem to be allowed to take place on the opening weekend, for example. And i'd be surprised if there's a 'big four' clash on the final day.

We always seem to play the same teams at similar times in the season.
Arsenal: Always around Christmas.
Man U: Easter.
EDIT: Oh yeah that article just reminded me. The CL final is on a Saturday next year!
How weird will that be?Last edited by TheStig; 15-06-09, 10:28 AM.
