I wouldn't say they're the worst but they're certainly bad enough.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Coca Cola was rumoured as a potential sponsor around 8 years ago, I remeber talking about it during a marketing class at uni. Google or Apple would be top though

Mate they are right up there with the best of them ...

Along similar lines .. over here in Hong Kong as that phantom Swine flu that does not really exsist is spreading and schools are being shut down, you know to not have children congregating in large groups in the one area .. What do Disneyland do ? slash there children prices by 60% and offer 1 month pass's for the price of one trip ..

Google also slightly on the cuntesh side if you ask me, in ****ing cahoots with the Commuinist Party in china.

Apple would be pretty cool but you do know Apple are actually owned by Microsoft

Not to mention you Ipod was probally made in china by a child who was raped by a Triad and forced into slave labour via an outsourced partnership.

I think we should be sponsored by Tapout ... send the right message to the opposition I say

Only a small part though, and MS have non-voting stock anyway.

When a company has a brand worth $70bn it is an easy target. The agenda of the anti-globalisation lot has turned out to be an endless stream of violent protest with next to no engagement with these companies.

Anyway Coca-Cola is more likely to be the next Premier League sponsor than our shirt sponsor.

Why not just go the whole way and call them "the anti-globalisation rabble" or "those bloody hippies with their stupid principles"?

I'm sure you're right that it is easy to turn up instances of corporate misbehaviour by very large corporations like Coca Cola. Also it's very easy for Coca Cola to spend billions of dollars every year on maintaining their corporate image.

It's hard to believe the balance of power in this dispute lies with anti-globalisation campaigners.

I completely agree the idea of Coke being a sponsor for LFC is a non-starter, not least because it would completely conflict with what appears to be their marketing/sponsorship strategy.

Coke aren't directly involved in any of their reputed ills. However it still doesn't make their practises best or acceptable.

In poor countries they contract out bottling operations to 3rd party companies who operate under license, and the margins they're being given are so slim they have little choice but to act in these ways.

And Coke know companies operating under their brand are paying a pittance, not looking after the safety of their workers, murderring trade unionists who protest about this and destroying water supplies.

Do they take away the license? No. They're making massive profits so they're happy to sit back and keep the status quo.

Personally I'm not an anti globalisation nut, I believe it can be a very good thing, however I believe it should work both ways.

Sure, take advantage of cheap labour across the world, it inserts money and opportunity into their economy, but on the other hand workers should be given the same rights as they have in the country where you're based rather than purely taking advantage of and raping these countries, their people and their resources.

Mark Thomas did an excellent doco on Coke. My dads a traditional, old fashioned Yorkshire working class bloke, not exactly globally aware of the plight of others, just not in his nature, but it even made him think twice about Coke.

Nothing to do with Anti Globalisation mate, more to do with working with the Nazi's, stealing drinking water from villages and paying thugs to kill factory workers who dont accept crap working conditions, amongst a very long additional list. Not a thing to do with Globalisation.

The Cost of Coke 2nd Edition

I am no pious saint, occasionaly there are coke products in my house, but i do try and not by anything from this company. You should seriously consider who you support with your custom, because in a way you become complicit in there actions
