If you just ignored the 'boring' stuff i posted, instead of calling the shots, it'd be much better all round.

I'm not remotely sensitive by the way, i just find you to be a tiresome presence, which is why i'd rather you just never replied to my posts.
I've never said you were boring, just being repetitive and argumentative.

It seems pretty obvious that I like discussing with you, that's why it may seem like I am stalking you (which may be true), but you're a star and deserve all the attention you get mate, so you should learn to live with it.

I'm not sure whether you are flirting or arguing but whichever could you please stop.

Those kind of stats do not suggest to me that any of those keepers were required to play out of their skin and produce save after save.

In 3 hours against City and Everton, we hit the target 5 times. That's woeful.

As for Keane, i agree he was shocking. And Rafa chose to buy him, which makes it a costly mistake in my book.
Equally though claiming that we were too defensive and our failure to attack was the problem in games when we had 20+ shots seems a little misguided.

I think most people agree that we need to have more goal threats and a change in approach to be added to our game. I'm not convinced (the rights/wrongs of his transfer being somewhat irrelevant) that Keane did enough to suggest that he offered a successful solution to either problem last year.

I think that, especially remembering those games as i do, it was very much a case of not being able to create clear chances and therefore, many of those attempts were from unrealistic or ambitious positions, as opposed to clear cut chances where we'd carved their defence open.

Whether we were too defensive, depends on how you mean. I dont think we were defensive in a 'dont try to attack' way, but we were slow in terms of tempo and moving the ball, which made it hard for us to break through a packed defensive unit.

Furthermore, someone like Lucas is going to offer far less in a positive, goal-threat manner than someone like Keane, even as poor a signing as he was. Yet Keane stayed on the bench, while Lucas was brought on, or kept on. I'm not the only one who found this baffling.

For one of those games, Alonso was rested in favour of Lucas, which again was never going to help us in an attacking sense.

We need to have an attacking mentality for sure, and play with a good tempo, but equally so, we need to be employing personnel who fit in with that mentality and intention, which i'm not sure we did often enough last season.

I think we're desperately missing an aerial threat on set pieces. I've suggested it before but Gerrard needs to be in the box during corners, not taking them. He's quite underrated in the air.

Out of our three centre backs, only Agger ever looks like scoring and that's not good enough. Maybe Carragher can stay back and Johnson goes up instead. We need more aerial threats in the box on every set piece. Getting goals that way can really take pressure off us when we're facing an inferior side.

Very true mate. Carra should be a threat at set pieces, but he often doesnt go up for them.

There are quite a few 'easy' goals to be had from corners and freekicks, but we dont score anywhere near enough. Torres is pretty much our only consistent aerial threat now that Hyypia's gone. Skrtel, Agger and Carra are all big enough to contribute in this area, but for some reason, they dont.

We need to work on this.

Skrtel wins a few headers, but he has a strange habit of putting them wide. I expect him to score a couple next season.
If Agger stays fit he`ll get ome as well, but he`s also a threath bringing the ball forward by himself.
Carra just don`t know how to score.
