I was really impressed with Nemeth and Pacheco. Nemeth is a quality finisher and should be given a chance, his movement is top notch too. Pacheco surprised me in the middle, put in some sliding tackles as well. He's a very good all around player, shame he's so small and isn't very quick, but I like him in that role he was given.

Really? I think he's done well so far pre-season, but I've not seen him too much from the reserve footage, always had high hopes for him thoughOriginally posted by Mattshark View PostI really don't think Spearing is good enough mate. Certainly not at the same standard as Xabi, Masch or Lucas and probably not as good as Plessis at present either.

Nemeth looks to be a natural predator. Really hopes he gets some decent game time this year. Pacheco is brilliant technically but is a poor finisher. Perhaps a more deep lying role will end up being his natural position.A humble guy with healthy desire.

It's interestingto see what a goal can do to a game, cos no longer could Singapore sit back and try to stifle the play...the lads in the first half did the hard work so the lads in the second could look good.Originally posted by vlahka View PostIts interesting what the team can do once you bring on the good players. Suddenly humidity and heat isnt an excuse for them. The others however...again shown up. Need to replace them badly.

I think we had more forward thinking players in the second half too.Originally posted by Scratch View PostIt's interestingto see what a goal can do to a game, cos no longer could Singapore sit back and try to stifle the play...the lads in the first half did the hard work so the lads in the second could look good.

I think it's been known for a long time that Pachecos best role is the withdrawn striker role, but as seen by Plessis and Spearing it was just about giving players minutes today.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostI was really impressed with Nemeth and Pacheco. Both Nemeth and Pacheco are said to be highly regarded by the LFC coaching staff, but it is also said that both need to fill out a bit more before they start making a break through at Anfield.
With that in mind it wouldn't suprise me too much if neither made an appearance in the first team next season. But I could see them making a break through the season after if they continue to develop.

That said, since the change to seven subs I have always wanted us to put a player of that age and standing on the bench. A 10 minute run out at the end of a game already won would be nice.Forwards.......

I fancy Nemeth to go out on loan to a Championship club.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostNemeth is ready. He's 20 and was a lot more impressive than Voronin and N'Gog, both in his finishing and build up play. We need to give him a chance because he's at the stage where he needs more than reserve team football.
Pacheco has time, he's only 18.Forwards.......

Benitez declared himself delighted with his team's performance in the final game of their tour of Asia and was especially pleased with the promise shown by 20-year-old Krisztian Nemeth.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostI fancy him becoming the club's 3rd or 2nd choice striker after Torres and maybe Babel.
Nemeth came off the substitutes' bench to score twice in the Lion City and has clearly made a favourable impression on his manager.
"He was really good two years ago for the reserve team, scoring a lot of goals but last year he had some problems with injuries," added Benitez.
"But he showed today that he's a good finisher and a player with a future.
"It depends on the players always. If they're knocking on the door and they knock really hard, then I have to hear. This is important and it depends on them."Forwards.......

Nemeth reminds me so much of Fowler in every way. His finishing, the way he drops deep, his passing. He even has the same pace as him.
Pacheco seems far better in the first team than he does for the reserves. He did a wonderful bit of skill when we scored the fifth goal. He did a the quickest rollever I've seen on the ball and passed it to Kuyt. I only noticed it after about the 10th replayMy kebab comes with chilli sauce
