    Lucas To Replace Xabi?

With the impending departure of Xabi, will this be the breakthrough season for Lucas? Perhaps one of the reasons that Rafa is willing to let Xabi go, is that he feels after two seasons, Lucas has finally settled enough for a starting berth. Towards the end of last season, I feel Lucas came on a great deal and we seen more of the box-to-box player he was, when highly thought of in South America.

If he can cut out the tendency to give away silly free-kicks, I feel the short passing style may be more fitting to our formation and style of play. Further, although not tall, he does tend to get his head on balls into the box.

Yeah, good shout. If he can stop being absolutely ****e we have a ready made replacement. Simples.

Really hope he blossoms this season, would love nothing more than to see him turn into a world class player, especially after all my manc fan mates saying how much better anderson is!

Harsh but almost fair. Certainly can't rely on him not being ****e this season.

So as Rafa has faith in Lucas's ability and keeps playing him does that make him an absolute ****e manager in your world

If we start the season with Lucas and Mascherano as our first choice CM, we'll be out of the title race by November.

As much as I hope Lucas to come good he is just too slow for the English league. He doesn't think or react fast enough and his range of passing leaves much to be desired. Defo not a direct replacement for Xabi.

Perhaps Rafa might have to tweak his tactics to accomodate him otherwise from what I have seen so far on various websites, Lee Cattermole is our saviour!!

                ****ing hell.

                Let's all give up now!

                We're doomed!

                Sack Rafa!

                Etc etc

He's not absolutely ****e ffs. At the moment he's nowhere near as good as Alonso but the stick Lucas gets from his own fans is nothing short of embarassing.

                        Interesting logic. No.

I remember making positive posts about Kuyt at the start of last season and similar myopia was displayed. Rafa is not one to persist with players who are unable to cut it and I believe that this will be a big season for Lucas, which may culminate with a starting berth in Brazil's midfield at the World Cup.

On a forum? I don't throw **** at him or boo him but he clearly isn't good enough. In my opinion is he ****e. 4 goals from 70(!) games last year and only one of those was in the league. Please tell me what he is good at.

I hope he improves but he is miles off being capable of doing anything for our team.
