If an experienced replacement is bought, Lucas may as well resign himself to never becoming a regular starter

If he was 25 fair enough.Originally posted by 112 View PostHe's had 2 years at Liverpool making roughly 20 appearances in each season in the premiership and 70 appearances in all competitions over 2 years. This season IMO is make or break for him. If he can't impose himself now, when will he.
He's not.Forwards.......

After having a year to settle he played more than 40 times last year.Originally posted by 112 View PostHe's had 2 years at Liverpool making roughly 20 appearances in each season in the premiership and 70 appearances in all competitions over 2 years. Either way, we are still going to need at least one more player for CM as we need cover for both him and Mascherano. Regardless of who we sign, Lucas will still have his fair share of games, and I’d be willing to bet he’d have the majority over this next signing.
I look forward to Lucas making the position his own this year, more so to see who the next scapegoat will be.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

we need 3 new central midfielders to win the league this year IMO. masher will prob follow xabi out the door and lucas, plessis and spearing are no where near good enough. trouble is, i dont know enough bout this aquillani bloke to make a judgement and from what i've ssen or martinez he's a quality talent alright but i'd have my reservations about his style in england. dont even get me started on the shower of ****e that is lee cattermole. pretty much think we're ****ed for the coming season.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

At this stage I feel even if Xabi stays we will look to promote Lucas in order to safeguard our future. He understands how Rafa wants to play and is a pretty tactically flexible player. If he has gained the strength he claims to have then I think he will be a huge asset. If Alonso goes I think as you say he is nailed on for the Spurs match.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI think regardss of who we sign to replace Xabi, Lucas will be in the eleven on day one at Spurs. Aquilani, or whoever we sign by way of replacement, will be a sub and eased into the side. Lucas will definitely start at Spurs IMO."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

You say that, but all pre-season we have played what to me is a 442. Gerrard has started every game in CM.Originally posted by dww View PostAt this stage I feel even if Xabi stays we will look to promote Lucas in order to safeguard our future. I await the Espanyol game with baited breath.Forwards.......

Agree completely. Technically these moron's who slate the players aren't fans, they are leeches.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHe's not absolutely ****e ffs. At the moment he's nowhere near as good as Alonso but the stick Lucas gets from his own fans is nothing short of embarassing.
