Are we really any stronger or should I be worried?

One thing that irritates me is how all the pundits keep saying we need Gerrard and Torres to win the PL. I mean yes of course we need them fit and healthy, but chelsea would struggle without Anelka and Drogba. Scum would suffer without rooney and berbatov.. Rant over=)

Mate, the pundits are a joke don't worry. Obviously they are our two best attacking players and keeping them fit will greatly assist our chances. But we came very close last year without them both for long periods. We only played 14 games last season with them both together. 24 games is a lot to do without one or both of your best attacking players.

I would have thought that after last season the media would have rated us highly. But the usual sections are trying to bring us down.

It's important to remember that the reporters last year who called us a two man team over reliant on Gerrard and Torres, are the same reporters who are now saying are title dreams are over because we have lost our most important player in Alonso!

Wait........ Let's stop for a moment and think. Last year we were a two man team dependant on G+T, now it's Alonso............... Why no mention of Alonso last year?

I'll tell you why, because however great a player Alonso is, he was not that important to LFC. A big player, but not a key player to our title ambitions. But we'll have to remember that as we watch LFC stutter through the first few games, which they may well do. They have been very lack lustre in pre season and gone are the days when form could be turned on and off like a tap.

We just need to scrape the results and slowly click into gear, much like last year.

We are a weaker side now than we were because our new boys have both been playing for inferior sides and/or in inferior leagues, so they are unproven at this level. On top of that Aquilani is longterm injured.

Until they can prove that they can make it, we are weaker, otherwise its purely guesswork.

It's player bashing. I'm assuming he's likely to throw abuse at any one of these players when things don't go right in a match. That's their mindset.

Whether he's right or wrong, is immaterial. It's his opinion, which he is entitled to.

Not much different to what this poster said, that is by calling a player ****, even if it's his opinion, is bashing. Try telling a professional in any field that he's **** and see the reply. Fact is, those players are part of Liverpool FC and doing a job here. They are squad players and don't boast to be superstars. You don't need a team of 20 first team players.

I'm not so sure.

Maybe there judgement is just very bad. But either way just coming on saying players are **** is worthless.
