And there have been plenty of instances of that in the past. That's not directed at you in the slightest

You'll probably just find that posters who are deemed as negative (whether you agree or not you are deemed in that way ) will get pulled up on things more by the masses. It's not as if you've been "told off" by a mod for doing it. Whereas if a poster posts something like that out of the blue then people tend to react differently to it.
But if i posted it myself, it WOULD be out of the blue - because i dont really do it either (call players ****, etc). However, if i DID do it - it wouldnt be treated as 'oh, its once in a blue moon, no worries' etc etc. Because it's me.

It's a glaring inconsistency and i know i've not been told off about it. I'm just exposing some people's hypocrasy.

For the record, i've always been of the opinion that calling someone **** ISNT abusive. I just wonder why it's 'abusive' when some do it, but not others. It's a bit like saying someone who's never had a speeding offence is therefore entitled to one occasion of doing 140mph and to be let off for it - because they dont do it much

It's daft and i find it funny And i know you see my point, even if you wont admit it

Maybe it's because your reputation is following you everywhere you go on the web, in that instance, for you to go great lengths in order to have a name change.

Just joking, I don't think I'm hypocritical despite 'factual' evidence you've provided here. It means nothing and I'm not dodging it. I just like to put one over you though.

I didnt go to any lengths to get a name change. So you're wrong there fredo.

All i'm saying is be consistent and treat people equally, instead of employing a prejudice type of outlook, where you have one rule for one, and a different rule for others. Do you not believe in treating people equally?

          Woah!!

IMO labelling a player ‘****’ on a forum is not abusive in the slightest. Not at all. I do not call that abuse, whether it’s come from me or anyone else. To me it’s being critical, an opinion on a player. If I were to call him a “**** Dutch cunt”, then that would be entirely different, as would shouting “YOU’RE **** BABEL” from the stands. That is abusive, as it’s aimed directly at the player, in person. I’ve heard that sort of abuse at Anfield (“you’re ****ing ****e Smicer lad, **** off” – Vlad heard it too, he heard every word and looked heartbroken ) and it’s not on.

If someone can’t label a player ‘****’ on a forum without being labelled ‘abusive’, then it’s a pretty sad state of affairs.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think people get treated differently due to the reputation they have made for themselves on here. As we both know you have a distinct history on here and people recognize that. If you then get treated differently by them.... well that's why.

I do see your point but I also think people only really have themselves to blame to an extent, in regards to the way that others respond to their posts. For example you have your particular posting style - that's fine but you must know by now it riles plenty of people - that much is obvious by the reactions you get surely?

As I said you're the only one really making an issue out of this, and it does somewhat seem to be more about scoring a point over Fredo than anything else.

I agree to an extent, but I would say it is abusive when it's basically all someone posts (particularly in a match thread). As I said to Craig we've had plenty of instances of that happening in the past, and those posters have been dealt with. Calling a player **** is not really something I go for myself, but I don't have a problem with it generally, except when it becomes someone's whole point of posting - and that's certainly not something you could level at yourself our Craig.

Of course I do. Again, that specific talking point, about calling some players **** wasn't aimed at you at all, so I don't understand where I've been unfair towards you mate. I was merely extrapolating on what Mattshark and yourself were discussing beforehand.

And as I said, the poster in question (flyboy) wasn't very constructive with his comments and to me it sounded abusive and meant to sound that way. I know Shaggy (and Ben_Itez) and I know how they mean it when they say '****'. It's about the tone and the general posting style of the poster.

I get a fair amount of bashing on here, maybe more than you Craig, but I'm not complaining every time, even though it does tend to piss me off most times.

I wasnt implying that you'd had a pop at me about it, i know you didnt

But i still think you were being inconsistent and i was just pointing that out, as i would with anyone else who i saw as doing the same. And i dont think it's fair to assume that you know how someone 'meant' something to be, without it being clear-cut.

We have lost alonso and Sami and the replacement for xabi wont be fit until october so i would say we are defo weaker at the minute as a team with Lucas in will always be weaker than one with xabi.

It's clear for me mate, just by reading between the lines and the general tone of the post. Those posters are generally lurkers who just come in here to have a pop when things go wrong. You won't find them discussing football in depth everyday, nor when things are going smoothly.

I like you Craig, I just want us to argue in a fair sense even if we don't agree on things, without having to resort to slightly veiled digs. I hate that and if you analyse my posts, I rarely dish out to people unless I feel I've been on the wrong end of a verbal aggression.

Fair play mate, i just think it borders on an assumption of mindreading, which i find a bit of a bold claim to make.

As i've said, personally speaking you're a good guy and i've no issue in that department.

We see a lot of things differently in terms of football, but that's not a problem.

Craig - I see your point, but I don't think anyone is being hypocrytical. Everything else I would've said has been touched on by Reece, Shaggy etc. You clearly revel in this sort of ****, but I'm not sure how it helps anyone

Myself, I'm not sure I've ever really criticised players much before. I've supported Lucas the entire time he's been with us for example, but Babel is absolutely infuriating. I can't recall more than 2/3 times where he had ball under control yesterday, let alone did anything with it. He is in no way solely responsible for our result yesterday, but it was sadly another terrible performance in a long line of them

I dont revel in anything Will.

It's simply a case of, when someone disagrees with a point i make, but then doesnt back up their disagreement when someone else makes the same point, it's an inconsistency and it comes across to me that i've been singled out for being me, rather than having much to do with the point i've made.

So in actual fact, i'm merely defending my corner.

Perhaps if you just looked at the case in an anonymous sense, rather than to do with who's involved, ridiculous comments like 'you clearly revel in this sort of ****' wouldnt be expressed. Another case of someone apparently capable of mindreading. Despite the fact that i KNOW what's going on in my head, and why i do/say things, other people apparently know better about my thoughts and intentions, than i do.

I didnt want to carry on this debate, because everyone had their say and it was resolved fairly amicably.

But when someone comes out with 'you clearly revel in this kind of ****' and i KNOW i dont, i find it seriously offensive and insulting.
