Reade sums it up perfectly for me. He has the talent and ability, he has just not shown it. He could still be a a hit at the club, but it's in his own hands, not Rafas. If he performs well when he comes on he'll play.
    Forwards.......

He's not right in the head and doesn't seem to have any desire or ambition to improve. That talk about going on loan to Ajax sealed it for me.

He'll never make it here and I'm disappointed we haven't sold him in the summer. He's got small club mentality.

He's just lazy and thinks he can do the bare minimum and get by with that. Not good enough i'm afraid. Talent is worthless without the right attitude. He doesnt want to put in 100% and work hard. He wants is easy, handed on a plate.

Doesnt work that way i'm afraid, Ryan.

I don't care what Ryan Babel wants, he's being paid to play football. If he can't be arsed trying then he should just **** off somewhere else. His opinion means nothing, I have no sympathy for him whatsoever. Make an effort or **** off.

I just watched an old Xabi Alonso interview ...because I am having trouble letting go : ) anyways when asked who is the most technically gifted player at Liverpool he immediatly said .. Bable ... he obviously has it in spades .. shame we rarely see it, I am convinced out LM postion is cursed

                Extemely poor article.
It's not even a proper news article. 'Crappy blog post' would be more accurate. It's inane drivel, just like everything else Jamie Kanwar has written.

AJAX coach Martin Jol has opened the door for a January loan move for Liverpool winger Ryan Babel.

Outspoken Babel has made no secret of his frustration at life on the fringes at Anfield this season.

The Holland international, who has not started a game since the opening-day defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, claimed last week that Liverpool had broken promises made to him concerning first-team involvement this season.

Babel also issued a clear plea to allow him to return to former club Ajax on loan during the January transfer window, in a bid to assure his place in his country’s squad for the World Cup finals next summer.

And when asked about the possibility of a move for Babel in the New Year, Ajax coach Jol gave the prospect a cautious welcome.

“I’ve read what he said, but I don’t have anything to say at the moment,” said the former Tottenham Hotspur manager.

“Babel does appeal as a good option, but it all depends on whether we need him when the time comes.”

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is to hold talks with Ryan Babel, but maintains that he will not allow the winger to leave on loan.

Babel is disappointed at a lack of first-team opportunities this season and has claimed summer guarantees from his club boss have not been kept.

A loan return to Ajax was hinted as a possibility, and it remains an option for the future, as the Holland ace wants to reinforce his place for the 2010 World Cup.

But Benitez, who has previously challenged Babel to battle for a role, will not allow a player he signed for £11.5million in 2007 leave on a temporary basis.

He said: "I will talk to Ryan. But I do not want him going on loan, he needs to work and fight for his place here."

I guess that talk they had didn't end well.

Dossena is a better option at LM than Babel anyway

My 2 year old daughter is a better option than Ryan Babel.

Yossie has to start every game IMO.

As long as he maintains the form he has shown from February until now, Yossi's an automatic selection in my book. Barring injuries, I just don't see Babel making it into the starting lineup on a regular basis. That being said, I'd like to see him in the squad, simply because I don't see Ngog ever making an impact, and we need someone with pace available to play up front if Torres isn't fit.

Babel could be an important contributor for us. I'm not saying it's likely...a lot of things would have to go right. But I don't see Ngog doing it at all, sorry to say. If anything, it would at least increase Babel's value on the transfer market for him to get a few appearances under his belt. On the other hand, it could backfire...
