I agree with me tooOriginally posted by Molby View PostAgree with you Lee,
He looked like he wanted to prove a point today.......(and so he should!!), when we signed him, i remember looking at his footage on youtube, i thought he was the final piece in the jigsaw.......
I hate criticising our players, but i think it is a fair comment to say, i can't think of too much footage that could be posted on youtube of him in our jersey. (Agree / Disagree?)
Hope he makes it though, on his day he looks the part.
The only thing I remember about Babel before we signed him, was seeing him a few games for the U21s in 2007 (especially the England match when it ended 17-16 - or something just as sick - on penalties).
He has it in his locker. Well, he can shoot and he's very fast. My issue with Babel is that he doesn't seem to have much of a football brian and I do question his attitude. However, first season he was good, and if he can apply himself in future like he has the last two games, then he may well have a future here yet.
He looks a lot more comfortable on the right too. I'm not going to go overboard because when he plays **** next week I'll be demanding that he gets put on the transfer list
But seriously, I hope he can kick on from here.

I dont know folks, to me its p*ss simple, the guy is limited in what he can do, he is fast, direct, right footed (cisse anyone?). He was very good on the right hand side today, made a couple of stupid slip passes to Gerrard in the middle that didnt make the mark, but wide on the right he was dangerous and showed. No more on the left, use him as a replacement for Kuyt when he tires, try and keep Benni in the game as long as possible and ............................ we will win the league! Big statement I know, and I do believe Babel is very limited as an intelligent footballer, but if he is in the right positions to use his athleticism we may very well get something extra this year. Fingers crossed anywayOriginally posted by Molby View PostAgree with you Lee,

He is a bit of a cross between Cisse & Baros... but they scored some important goals for us and if Babel can do the same then that's fine by meOriginally posted by kopster View PostI dont know folks, to me its p*ss simple, the guy is limited in what he can do, he is fast, direct, right footed (cisse anyone?). Fair play to Babel, thats back to back excellent performances now, playing with a lot more heart and desire, looks better on the ball and hes pitching in with the rest of the team. Very impressed with him of late .. hope he keeps it up .. Fair playAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Its fair to say that Benitez is ruining him by giving him the odd game on the left.
He has no left foot for starters. Ill never get why managers seem to think certain players can play in certain positions, when they cleary cant. Benayoun is another, who is clearly amazing when played centrally, but gets pushed out wide in favour of Lucas.
If we need a backup for the left side, lets buy us a left footed player, and save Babbel for the left or up front (or just sell him, as I dont reckon he is going to play much anyway). In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

The lad looks miserable, even after providing a beauty of a cross, Torres running over to lift him off his feet, he couldn't even raise a smile.
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

great cameo, but i am sure he now believes he should start and when he doesnt next game he will be back to feeling pissed off.
would love for him to accept his role and work harder at proving the manager otherwise a la benayoun_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

Babel has played predominantly on the left throughout his career. Whoever his managers were at Ajax saw fit to play him there, and similarly at international level. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

His cross was as useful a thing he has done for a while, maybe we will ahve a little squad tweak here, with Yossi and Riera vying for ther left attacking slot and Kuyt with Babel going for the rightQuit your jibber jabber!!!
Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

We may as well just sell him then, he'll have no chance.Originally posted by saveferris View PostHis cross was as useful a thing he has done for a while, maybe we will ahve a little squad tweak here, with Yossi and Riera vying for ther left attacking slot and Kuyt with Babel going for the right

It's nice to have the option of withdrawing Dirk if he's not so effective and/or we need an injection of pace down the right, but RedReet's right, he'll never oust Kuyt from the starting slot.Originally posted by saveferris View PostHis cross was as useful a thing he has done for a while, maybe we will ahve a little squad tweak here, with Yossi and Riera vying for ther left attacking slot and Kuyt with Babel going for the rightThanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
