well, just got back to dublin from the game. unfortunately one i had decided to travel to and had to pay slightly over the odds for flights and a ticket etc. games like that where i travel to pay so much for and we dont get a result are a nightmare because thats pretty much all you can think of for a day or 2

Anyho, i couldnt believe the luck/**** defending. we gifted them goals and didnt take our chances. on another day we would have beaten them comfortably.

this doesnt hide the fact that we dont have a central mid capable of really opening up defences, if we continue with this policy of playing lucas and masch , we will be in trouble. masch does his job but we need a creative midfielder to play along side him pronto, (when is aqu fit? - will he be good enough?, jesus i hope so)

as for voronin - ****, our bench is not even as strong as tottenhams let alone the other top 3- what options did we really have, very little. if gerrard or torres get injured , we are f***ed, and i wish fernando would keep his mouth shut at times and let his finishing do the talking

in summary, lady luck was against us i felt, but we contributed heavily to the defeat. we need more options and its still early doors

      p.s. ashley young is a c**t

Yes he was but what I was trying to get across is that playing Stoke is no kind of bench mark and that last season just missing out on the league wasn’t down to Alonso it was down to the team whether Alonso, Gerrard, Torres were playing or not. So far this season the team seems very disjointed but they will get better.

Also, and I know this is possibly wishful thinking, but lets just say we beat Bolton at the weekend and Chelsea & Spurs and Manure & ****ty draw then things may not look as bad as they do this morning.

Personally I think Lucas is to young to have people saying if he will make it or not, but he is not to young for people to say whether he is good enough for the present.

My judgement remains the one it has been for a while. Good enough to fill in, but not good enough to be a regular starter in the role Benitez has given him. He's not a playmaker and that is what is being expected of him at present. His inability to do that job is making Mascherano attempt things he is no good at, and also making Gerrard drop out of position, which in turn isolates Torres.

When we had Alonso, Mascherano would give him the ball and allow him to plan forward moves. Gerrard would sit and wait and be a partner to Torres. So in this way the lack of a capable player in the playmaker position is effecting three of our best players and limiting their own impact.

When Lucas came in last season our opponents were not able to plan ahead knowing Alonso would be out. Teams did not know of what is now an obvious weakness. So Lucas could come in, do a job and he could get away with a lack of ability.

This may seem like a big dig at Lucas, but it's really not. He is a decent player and will be a good one IMO. But he will never be a deep lying playmaker.
          Absolutely spot on

Why is it spelt with a (h) ?

Watched full highlights. I must say if it wasn't for the post, thier goalkeeper and some poorly executed chances we might well have been talking about another spanking.

and for those that are superstitious, where not on live sky or espn (2 games live, 2 games lost), we will win against Bolton.
