We were woeful tonight but still should have put the game out of sight before Villa scored. Lots of players need to have a long hard look at themselves after tonight.

I am still confident we can turn this round but there is definitely a spark gone from our play and we need it back asap.

They deserved the win, we didn't. Whatever about the ref's performance we didn't play like champions. Scum, Arsenal and Chelsea will be laughing at us. On the evidence so far we'll be lucky to take 4th place.

If this continues I fear there will be some major changes around the club in the not too distant future.

Regardless of what you all say on here, we created enough chances to have won two games tonight, never mind one. But you can't spurn gilt edged chances and expect to challenge for the title. They have to be put away.

What is a problem is that we are a very small side when we line up for set pieces and as such will concede goals no matter what system we use to mark players, and it is also why we tend to not score that many from set pieces. I think we lack a Terry/Vidic type player who attacks the ball and wins it. We have brave defenders in Skrtel and Carra but they've never been that great in the air at set pieces.
