Its not a laughing matter. I seriously thing next year will be our year, just wait and see I tell's yur.

It's not a laughing matter. But sometimes if you don't laugh you cry. And sometimes it's so tragic you do both anyways.

This is actually the first time going into a new season where I thought we had enough in our squad to win it. I'm always hopeful, but not usually expectant.

Then the whole Xabi thing came up, and I was convinced without him, we'd, well, look like we do and have **** all chance.

Then I convinced myself "only 1 player, we'll make do".

Now not convinced of anything other than a long painful season.

I think by the time Aquilani comes in we'll already be enough adrift to make winning an almost impossible ask. And when he get's in he'll need time to settle. This season we'll be lucky to get third.

Next season impossible to tell until we've at least see Aquilani play with us.

Hopefully next summer RM will buy Fabregas, Rooney, Berbatov, Lampard, Terry, Vidic, Eduardo, Ramsey, Drogba, then maybe we'll have a chance.

I feel like hibernating until next season.

Its amazing how many people tried to dismiss the loss of Alsono and shouted about Lucas having a chance. He did well against Stoke....but it was just Stoke after all.

This performance and that against Spurs just reminds me of the majority of games where Alonso didn't play last season. Piss poor. Sure, we did well against the Mancs, but games like that sometimes raise a players game for 90 minutes, on the whole, Lucas just isn't good enough. Alonso was the best at what he did and he directed all our play.

Before anyone harps on about our 3 injured internationals, Riera, Aquilani (unproven), and Aurelio, they're hardly great players are they? We over performed last season, whilst the Mancs and Chavs under performed.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season.

Have a little faith.

It was only 3rd game of the season and in the great scheme of things these 2 losses may not cost us much (don't forget all those ties last year) as long as we get back on the winning track starting against Bolton.

Imo we are better off with sense of urgency now than the later in the season.

Yes we haven't played well against Villa but they certainly had luck on their side. We could have had 2 score lead after 12 minutes and the complexion of the whole game and the final result could have been much different.

I definitely would not give up on our hopes so early in the season...

5 goals conceded, and all from set pieces...something needs to be worked on in training...

Ah well, 6 points of top with 35 games to play...least we're not drawing so many games anymore!

According to reports, Rafa has taken the senior players to one side to have a serious chat...by senior players i assume Gerrard, Carra and maybe Reina...wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that neither Gerrard or Carragher encourage the players, gee them up...someone misplaces a pass to Gerrard, you never see him applaud the attempt, or try to lift the offender, he just turns and glares (altho when he misplaces a pass, it's never his fault). And Carra, much as i love him, does like a little rant every now and then...it can't do the younger players any good, cos that is un-needed pressure.
