well at 33 i have no qualms at all about admitting that when i watch us play at home or down the pub i will often shout abuse aimed at our players. I've come close to booting the screen in at times. probably because they don't meet my own high standards. I can't stand a lack of effort. i've even been known to swear at anfieldOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostMy issue with it isnt to do with how he'd feel, or 'what if he reads the forums'.
It's just a general thing about fans abusing their own players, it doesnt sit right with me and makes a mockery of the term 'supporter'. It's not even something i 'choose' to think, it's just my instinctive feeling on the matter.
Just my opinion though.

Not at all. I've never been one for abusing our players, nothing's changed there.Originally posted by fredo View Post
All those years of arguing have finally changed Craig.
The idea of what is 'abuse' might be where you misunderstand me. But then, you misunderstand most things in most walks of life.

Nice little defensive position you're adopting there.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postwell at 33 i have no qualms at all about admitting that when i watch us play at home or down the pub i will often shout abuse aimed at our players. I swear my arse off at games, with frustration being what it is when things arent going well. But if one of our players ****s up, it'll be more of a 'for ****s sake', rather than a 'Lucas you cunt, **** off back to brazil' or whatever.
To my mind, we're in the ground for one predominent reason, and that is to support the team, with the ultimate objective of hopefully driving them on and perhaps getting maybe 5% or 10% more out of them in terms of performance. We're one and the same. Obviously they're on the pitch and we're not, so we cant directly impact on the game, but we can do what little we can, in order to try and shift the balance of the match in favour of Liverpool Football Club.
Sometimes the match is exciting, entertaining and fun. Other times it's boring as ****, frustrating and horrible to watch. That's all secondary to me though, it's not the main reason i'm there.
Each to their own but to my mind, people who are intent on abusing our players (and IMO making their jobs harder, and in turn, making things more difficult for LFC), should do so in the comfort of their living room or in a pub.

I'm hardly intent on abusing people. I merely referred to the pony tailed one as a cunt in this thread. I've also shouted at the TV Kuyt you f**king whatever more times than I can recall.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostNice little defensive position you're adopting there.
Thanks

But I'll agree with you there's no point in attending games and shouting non stop abuse especially at one player who may be struggling for form. But sometimes perhaps depending on the type of person you may or may not be things will get said and shouted on occassions. ...if i'm being brutally honest, as things stand now, top 4 isnt currently a foregone conclusion. So, we're 6 points of Chelsea, and 3 points of United, with 35 games to play...yup, we don't stand a chance in hell.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostUnited wont win it either. The benchmark this year will be Chelsea. I think (and hope, given that i dont think we'll do it) that they win it.
