      Insua 'Zapata'

Degen has not done himself any favours in pre season. Martin Kelly is now our second choice right back.

I think Degen's been dropped in favour of Kelly, simply because of the nationality quota requirements. If Degen was English, he'd have been in this squad.

But he's not figuring in our PL matches neither, despite being fit and raring to go.

El Zhar seems to have slipped off the radar too, granted we need the english nationals in there for the quota, but he hasn't looked close to featuring in our first 4 games?

                  That's because he's been injured

Might have something to do with Johnson.

I don't think thats the reason tbh, its more like he is too injury prone

Am I missing something here? Are 28 players on that list. The main A-list is 25 players isn't it? Of which 8 must count as home grown (trained for the required in England before the age of 21). Assuming there are 3 players on the B-list (probably Eccleston Amoo and Martin?) That leaves us short of 2 homegrown players doesn't it? I read Insua didn't count because he hasn't been here perminently for the required period, Who else could count as homegrown Plessis?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Possibly that too. But why would Darby AND Kelly be in the squad, do we need 3 RB options (and Carra, who can play there too) ?

If Darby and Kelly were kids from Norway and Hungary for example, do you think they'd have still been picked for this squad? Over the full international, Degen? I'm not sure.

I'm not so sure either. But I can guarantee Amoo would not have been in ahead of him, nor Eccleston. Both good young prospects I rate, yet both have only just made the step up into the reserves, with Amoo often found on the bench.

Yet when I keep saying it would benefit us to sign English players there are people on here who turn round and disagree, saying we don't need them.
