I think the two assists says it all really. It's more than Nunez provided for an entire season. (It really is!) Nunez was a hole in the ground compared to young Pennant. Pennant might not be Pelé but come now. Nunez was far worse than Pennant.

    Anyway - well spotted

It was luck really, just read that thread before re-reading this one

Fair enough, I completely agree that Pennant is a far superior footballer to Nunez, but at the moment I really don't think that so far in his Anfield career he's done very much more than Nunez did. I really hope though, and expect, that Pennant will do far more than that in the coming months

I know Anderson is only 18, but he looks a decent player and he is a natural right wing. We have spent a lot bringing young players in, but eventually they have to make the step up.

The problem I feel is that Momo and Xabi is our best combination in central midfield, which means Gerrard has to play on the right.

I was looking forward to Pennant coming, but as yet he hasn't done the business. Saying that, Finnan was terrible in his first season for us, and now I rate him as the best RB in the league. I feel given time he could still be a good player, and at 23 there is a lot of improvement to come, unfortunately with Gerrard, Garcia and Anderson coming through, time will not be available to him.

Anderson should probably get his chance at some point this season. BUT..... if Rafa started playing Anderson now it would cut deep into whatever remains of Pennant's morale. As **** as he's been playing of late you can't just completely write off a £7m signing that easily.

Hehe, I think he did more when he hit Crouchy in the head with his cross in Israel, but whatever.

Great site you have thrown together here MrMichael.

Is it possible to get an "all pages" buttom on this site. Thats the only thing this site is missing.
