    Burnley - Post match thread

We're banging in goals at the moment.

We've had a **** start to the season with losing against Spurs & Villa (at Anfield ), but at least the other teams around us will now start dropping points as they're all playing eachother over the next few weeks, so we'll be firmly in the race if we can crack on from here.

Still, 9 points from games against Spurs, Stoke, Villa, Bolton & Burnley is still disapointing. We should've taken at least 10 or 12. Season starts now.

We were back to the level of the end of last season already, which is great to see. That's without Agger, Aurelio and Aquilani who are/will be 3 of our best passers (think someone mentioned similar in the match thread)
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

      Think that was me

Yup, things are starting to look up. I think Chelsea are looking strong but with the African Cup of Nations in January they will be a bit light.

United don't look that strong. City have had a good start but won't win the league. As for Spurs & Arsenal - nope.

      Feeling positive now

yeah, season starts now- big time.

We are well in the hunt, just hope we can string together a few maximums now and put pressure on those around us

Yossi was unreal today.........what price would he be in today's market??

When we signed him, i, like many others thought he was a mid table player, nothing more. But, you have to say, he is one hell of an attacking threat against any team.

onwards and upwards - keep the faith everybody..........YNWA

PS nice to see Michael Shields there........welcome home Michael

Not just a hindsight thing, but why? Bar it was West Ham he played for, he always looked a quality player.

Was always surprised West Ham played so little for him, was just as surprised that we paid relatively little for him, was even more surprised the abuse he originally got.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Saw a lot of him at West Ham and thought that he'd be a useful squad player for us. He's now developing into an important first 11 player.

Only being honest RedReet - a few eyebrows were raised when we signed him......i just didn't think he was the type of player that could take the game by the scruff of the neck and make things happen.

Which, incidently, is the type of player he has developed into. (IMO)

I'm happy, and man enough, to hold my hands up and say i was wrong.... he is without doubt a 1st XI player now...

I would say he's in the 17 - 20 million bracket, judging at todays prices.........

The idea of buying Yossi was to replace Garcia, no?

Yossi is a better player than Garcia, he is skillfull, he can win games, he brings other players into the game.

Over the last 20 games, last season and this season he has been our best player

He can be frustrating - trying to beat one man too many, neglecting to shoot etc - but he's always been an upgrade on Garcia.

I've been dead against moving SG back into midfield (while we wait for Aquilani) but Yossi's form has forced me into a rethink. Dirk on the right, Riera left, Yossi off Nando.

I know it's easier for Lucas to shine in these sort of games but nevertheless I thought he played very well today.

Lucas was outstanding been away half way around the globe, arrived back late thurs/early friday. More travelling than Mascher (who didnt even make the bench)

                            Lucas

Aye but Masher played in midweek, Lucas was a sub (unused I think). Agree with your sentiments though.
