Look I hope this lad can sort the defending out and turn into a real gem. If anybody can sort him out its rafa and unfortunately he's pencilled in for the world cup with argentina and will miss out on some needed one to one with rafa.

I don't know where you're getting this information from but it's highly unlikely he's going to the World Cup. He was picked in 1 squad and then dropped for the next few squads. But if he keeps playing the way he does, he may force his way in

I think by the start of next season, most of us will regard him as better full back than Glen Johnson.

Some of the skills he was pulling off today was impressive. Outstanding performance again

It's a difficult one he definately looks more comfortable playing in midfield but he has the energy to play at ful back as he work the whole channel for 90 mins. I think a lot of people (and me) agree with you. He's not been bad but he's not really been hitting the heights he reached at the start of the season. But to be fair, we weren't playing so badly as a team at the start of the season so maybe it's a team issue? The fact is, a lot of the 1st teamers (Kuyt, Gerrard, Torres, Masch et al) are not playing well either. It's strange that in this situation 2 players have shone: Insua and Lucas.

Going off the point, I would love to see Kelly and Johnson on the right hand side for us. Johnson could play at RW and Kelly at RB.

****ing hell - you obviously werent watching the same game as most of us.

Going forward he is very good and in tight situations he can pull something out of the bag but defensively he's all over the place. The opposition know about his weaknesses and deliver a lot of long balls across to his side where he loses just about every single header.

Seriously every time the ball goes anywhere near this fella near our penalty area I wince.

I agree that Johnson in midfield could be an option at times. Using him to give us a way of stretching teams (in the way that Pennant did on his good days) could be valuable variation in our game.

Insua was good but did have a couple of dodgy moments - once with the penalty shout (not a pen but slack work from Insua nontheless) and he allowed men in behind him once or twice with some dodgy positioning.

Ive noticed that and yes it is very worrying. But its just a confidence (I hope) issue.

We signed him as a right back and thats where he should play. But I will say he was lethal when playing in midfield for Pompey during the back end of last season.

How many errors did Benayoun make? How many did Kuyt make? How many did Aquiliani make? Far more than mistakes than Insua did. Insua was superb today in difficult conditions
