i could probably name 20 worse under houiller and Souness.Originally posted by billd View Post5Ft 8, or 5Ft 10...........He's still not good enough. An absolutely appalling player. He is possibly the worst defender I've seen play for Liverpool in 45 years, and I've seen some bad ones!
He has got a few assists to his name this year, looks capable just suffering from a lack of confidence and its probaly not helped him this year having a new defensive partnership so often in the early parts of the season and not having a settled partner on the left in front of him_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

Started well enough when he first got into the team but has gone backwards since then. He looks to be overweight and most teams are targeting him as the weak or should I say weakest link in the team. Has to be dropped and whipped into shape.Originally posted by Marky View PostPlease people, tell me what this Argie whiz kid offers to the team?
What exactly is he good at?

Yeah, I was gonna say the same. I do think the statement about Insua being the worst left back in 20 years is utter stupidity, but Phil Neal the worse defender? BizarreOriginally posted by zimbo View PostNo offence or anything, but that's absolute ****ing bollocks.
Did you ever see him play?I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

I obviously don't think he was utter ****e, it was merely a reply to the absolute nonsense saying that Insua was crap.Originally posted by Fierce View PostYeah, I was gonna say the same. Still, Phil Neal wasn't the worst full back we had, but he wasn't the greatest either. There's nothing bizarre in replying to inane posts with even more inane posts, you know.

I know you didn't say he was utter ****e. You said Phil Neal is the worst defender you've ever seen. No?
You're aware of how often he played for us? The managers he played under? The England caps?
Unless I've missed you making a point about Insua, on who's subject I agree with you on, then sorry chap you've lost me
Hehe, and I just read this great big steaming pile of cockslobber:
WATOriginally posted by rico1304 View PostHe looks scared to death all the time, has no positional sense, is slow and gives away needless freekicks. He can't head it or pass it and shows no passion. Has setup more goals than any other full back. Like all young players he's not got a complete game yet, so it's incumbent on the manager to put together a scheme and partnerships that minimize the failings and accentuate the positives.
Insua with Agger is more sound than Insua and ANO. Insua with Riera in front of him will be even more so IMO.
ALL players have weaknesses, younger ones more so, it's about how you accommodate them. We've managed it with Carragher's lack of pace and inability to defend high up the pitch all these years, so let's extend the courtesy of consideration to Insua and the manager while they work on getting the balance right and completing Insua's education.
If you've watched Insua since he joined us you will know he has improved year on year and I haven't seen that stop this season.
Get used to knowing what it's like to bring youngsters through, we may be seeing a lot more of it in the near future.

Cant believe the amount of stick this lad is coming in for .. ****ing curse of the LB it seems, I take solace in the fact that almost exclusively in the fact that only posters who I rate as sensible when it comes to footie matters disagree with the general tone of this threadAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. To be honest it has happened to all the young players who have come in - people seem to feel that players will somehow magically all be fully formed as soon as they reach the first team squad and that failure to be as good as Gerrard is simply unacceptable.Originally posted by Nicey View PostCant believe the amount of stick this lad is coming in for .. ****ing curse of the LB it seems, I take solace in the fact that almost exclusively in the fact that only posters who I rate as sensible when it comes to footie matters disagree with the general tone of this thread
The other case in point is Ngog and he has had an obvious decent goal scoring record to point to in his defence.
It was only a short while ago that people were asking whether it was possible if it would be possible for players like Carragher to have developed under Rafa. It now appears that Rafa is much more willing to give players time to develop than the posters who criticised him.
I'm pretty sure that some of the players Rafa has tried to bring on such as El Zhar, Kelly, Insua, Darby and Ngog and even more expensive purchases like Babel and Lucas will not make it but I do feel that people are incredibly quick to write players off and fail to take the lessons of the progress of players as different as Carragher, Fletcher, Lennon, Milner or Crouch on board."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Oh heck, where to start?Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Posthow long is rafa gonna persist with playing the argentine hobbit that is insua?!?!?!? he is getting wirse by the game. rafa now plays aurelio ahead of him a a negative approch just to try and give him support he's that poor. he is becoming a laughing stock and the abuse he receives from other teams is IMO justified. if ahsley cole or patrice evra etc.... were to play as badly we'd be having a field day. against reading i cant remember a single tackle he made that wasn't an illegal foul. he continually pulled at mcanuff shirt, got beat for pace even with a 10 foot headstart and when in acre's of space would immediately look for a pass to ste even when it wasn't on. he simply hasn't cut the mustard and i'm begging for rafa to stop his obvious childish fallout with aurelio ( over fabio not accepting a pay as you play deal ) and reinstated our best left back to the starting 11.
Isn't it a little unfair to use comparisons with Cole or Evra, both seasoned international fuil backs in their late 20's? In fact, its more than a little unfair, its like comparing Ngog with Anelka. Or Pacheco with Scholes.
And as for Rafa having a fall out with Aurelio which is why he's not playing him....errrrrr.... hasn't Aurelio started the last couple of games? Rafa's not been able to play him at full back most of the season becasue he's, much to everyone's shock, been injured most of the time. And was abysmal against Reading, easily worse than Insua imo.
Look, the lad's having a hard time right now, but young players, especially defenders always go though patches like this, if this is the kind of treatment our kids can expect while being blooded then its hardly a surprise so few ever make the step up! He's nowhere near as bad as some people have been making our in this thread, nowhere near it.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Its Madness, if I was a player i would not spend a solitary moment online or reading any papers, its utter bunk mostly. Its a sign of the times, i can't believe people like Olly Kay is bloody writing Aquilani off already .. i mean really for ****s sake we have now entered the twilight zone, drives me mad. Bloody press go on there annual witch hunt for managers at the start of each season and when one of them gets the boot such as the Excellent Megson they pull the Wooe Chairmen are too quick to fire managers line when they can take most of the credit in many occasions. The ****ing hordes of ghomless gob****es who lap up there drivel each week start banging the drum to which ever beat they are told, zonal marking does not work, rafa rotates too much, stevie g on the right.
I read posts on this website and i cant believe my eyes half the time, well I can have so many years. I talk to my mate a Manc about some of the ****e i read on here and he tells me its the same on Redcafe bunch of ****ing morons most of the time thats why he does not bother going online.
There just seems to be a real lack of loyality or support for the team and most of the players unless there names are Gerrard and Torres. For the most part the majority of people have to lead to the ****ing water on issues such as Benny, Carra at CB, Ngog, Insua ... They expect a team full of superstars and have no appreciation for what players contribute to the overall team unless it is a subtle as a ****ing Jack Hammer .. and they are all the first in line to get stuck in when a bad result happens but when we win a game this place is so ****ing quiet you could hear a ****ing goldfish fart
