People need to be more respectful of fellow posters. I don't want to sound like a censorious **** but otherwise people are going to be sin binned or banned.

Getting caught day dreaming in possession on the edge of our box early in the game has nothing to do with the full backs pushing on, that could (should) have been 1-0 to West Ham, the penalty then the Cole goal was scored from his zone in the 6 yard box.

If he was Greek/Slovakian/Argentian or Danish he would be getting pelters on here.

Interesting someone posted saying they wished he got back to 2005 form sharpish........ that was 4 years ago.
He needs to sort himself out, I'm not saying he should be left out but neither should he be immune from criticisam when he plays badly which has been too often recently for my liking.
He can't be tired ffs he retired from internationals to preserve his club form.........

very good point about the fact that Carra being the scouser, but the problem is not Carra, but why we dont have any really viable replacement with Agger injured.

The premier league is a league that exposes lack of pace, and whilst Carra traditionally made up the yard of pace with his positional sense, he is now two yards of the pace.

Liverpool have traditionally never played players because they are scousers or because of a past glories.

I think that this season will be the last that Carra gets played 40+ times a season.

Having said that I wouldnt sell him.

how would carra react to being dropped?

could it cause problems between him and benitez?

i mean i would think that carra would be a level headed chap etc.

unless some of you know him a bit better?

thoughts like this put all sorts of scenarios in my head.

like him and benitez falling out

                    gerrard being behind carra

                    benitez heading toward exit door.

                    player power. etc

Carragher has been shockingly bad this season. Yesterday just demonstrated what a liability he has become. I thought he started off badly with an appalling show at Spurs, but he's got worse and worse with every game. I said just a little while back - prophetically as it's turned out - that Carragher is now just a rash challenge and a penalty kick waiting to happen, in every game.

It's no point people saying how good he was in the past, it's what he's doing now that's the problem. The young kid Hines, very much still learning his trade, made him look very foolish early on as he dwelt on a ball for ages. In the second or two it was developing it was easy to see that he was going to get caught playing statues. We were very, very lucky to get away with that. The inevitable penalty kick later on was also a result of very poor decision making. What the hell was he trying to do in blatantly barging the player off the ball in full view of the referee?

I'm afraid we're seeing a player in the twilight of his career. He will continue to be a liability and we will continue to suffer the consequences. We can just pray that Agger gets fit some time soon.

david weir is 39 years old :

He scored his first Rangers goal against FK Zeta in a UEFA Champions League qualifier, on 31 July 2007.[6] Weir was highly praised for his endurance during the 2007-08 season as Rangers chased The Quadruple. Despite being in his late 30s he managed sixty appearances that season and produced some stand out performances along side Carlos Cuéllar in the centre of defence. Weir won his third and fourth trophies of his career in 2008, as Rangers claimed Scottish Cup and League Cup glory. On 4 July he signed a further one-year contract extension to his deal.[7] He was appointed the Rangers' captain on 3 April 2009 after Barry Ferguson had been stripped the role following an incident whilst on international duty. He is expected to sign a further one-year contract which will see him at the club when he turns forty.

i think he'll sort himself out.
and play on for a few years yet.

Jesus Christ a living Legend has a dip in form and the ****ing Monkey Train comes out of the station. Sure I agree with everyone hes not been the best and has made some obious errors, but lets show some ****ing respect for a guy who bleeds LFC and has been running through ****ing brick walls for us for more years than I care to remember .. I have no problem with criticism, but let keep perspective here . Also to cut the guy some slack hes playing in a back four thats far from settled at the moment .. I dont care what anybody says its no coincidence that we have let more goals in in such a short period of time from the lefthand side / corners since Johnson has arrived ... Not having a go ... but if we are going to play with our LB's and RB's permantly camped out in the opositions half we are going to let more goals in .. more mistakes will happen .. But I dont care as long as we score one more .. everytime

Well said, I agree 100%. No one will be more upet about his current form than Carra himself. He'll sort it out I'm sure, bad enough losing Sami but to think Carra's days are numbered is just unthinkable.

Oh dear, if the oracle (aka Stan Collymore) thinks Carra's on the way out maybe there's something to it

As much as I respect Jamie Carragher and everything he's done for Liverpool, I do think he's starting to dip.

Him and Martin Skrtel have had a shaky start to the season and again at West Ham he didn't have the best of games.

Once again Liverpool conceded goals from set-pieces and Carragher does not look as solid as he did.

It makes me wonder if Rafa Benitez shouldn't take whatever transfer budget he will have in January and spend it all on a top-quality centre-half.

I'm not saying he should replace Carragher now or that he is finished - far from it.

But I do think you should strengthen your team from a position of strength so if Benitez brought the new Jamie Carragher in now, he would have time to bed him in over the next season or two.

Every player - no matter how good they are - dips at some point and it would make sense to have Carra's replacement groomed and ready to take over for when he finally has to go.

Carragher is 31 and can't go on forever, so it's better to think about these things in advance.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                              Mine angry and defrauded young?
