To be fair, we came in with exactly the same game plan as last season. Last time around, we didn't make any individual mistakes, and scored a fluke to win the game. This time, we did make that mistake to let them get an opening, and it was always going to be difficult from there.

What rubbish from the above posters for the main.

The teams were dead equal - something not uncommon in the big games. Had Torres took his headed chance in the first half I would bet we would have won the game.

At 1-0 we dominated the game and did have plenty of possession and created a good few openings. Gerrard unlucky when Cole got in the way, and Terry also made a last gasp challenge. Add to that a shot Torres put wide and should have scored.Then the two good chances late on were probably irrelevant - the Yossi and Gerrard attempts.

For me the difference today was that Drogba had a great game and Torres and Gerrard did not. Torres in other games could have had a hat trick.

Lucas was fine. More than fine actually. We gave them nothing in the middle, but they scored with a counter attack which really shouldn't happen. If you're going to blame Lucas for this loss, at least make a decent attempt.
