    Argentina v Peru (Insua-Mascher)

Insua to save the day in the most cruical game!?? Im a bit surprised as Maradona is obviously desperate now and needs the win.

Mascherano and Insua both playing tonight, will be interesting to see how the perform. Mascher has not been on good form this season and Insua is facing intense pressure on home soil. Big responsibility for the young lad

    ------------------------------------------------------

In Argentina's final training session ahead of the decisive World Cup qualifier with Peru on Saturday, Diego Maradona, the coach of the side, confirmed his starting XI:

Sergio Romero, Jonas Gutierrez, Rolando Schiavi, Gabriel Heinze. Emiliano Insua, Javier Mascherano, Enzo Perez, Di Maria, Pablo Aimar, Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain.

As was expected Real Madrid's Higuain will partner Barcelona's Messi in what promises to be an intimidating attack. Aimar, Di Maria and Insua will also be provided with the opportunity to prove their worth.

Those eleven players in the team performed dead-ball work during the training session which took place on Friday afternoon behind closed doors in Ezeiza.

Then Maradona observed the side against the Argentina U-17 squad. After the training match the players underwent a cooling down process. Fortunately for Maradona no players were injured.

The players who will need to be careful against Peru so that they don't miss the match with Uruguay next week are Lionel Messi, Jonas Gutierrez, Javier Mascherano and Gabriel Heinze, all on yellow cards. Martin Demichelis could also risk suspension, but he will begin the match from the bench.

Argentina will need to claim maximum points against Peru in order to remain with possibilities of securing one of the two automatic World Cup berths still available.

Any manager who is that much of an idiot to leave out Aguero, doesnt deserve to qualify for the world cup.

They'll batter Peru though, it's a banker. Their last game will bring the brown-pants moments.

Not just Aguero. Lisandro Lopez too. They will win thanks to Messi and maybe a late appearance from Aguero.

But I don't think they will batter them because he has not picked his strongest side

Does anyone else think Aguero is one of the most overrated players in Europe?

He's good no doubt, but he's nowhere near world class, not yet anyway.

He's over-rated by some. He's nowhere near world class but he is a very good player.

He's 21 years old. He WILL be world class before too long.

Imo i don't think he has what it takes to be world class.

Are you talking about the right player?

Aguero will be world class but he isn't yet.

Insua I have my doubts he'll be considered world class but he can be a very good international standard footballer

I'm glad you think that. If YOU thought he could be world class, i'd have to rethink my view entirely. But you've just re-enforced my opinion in the strongest way possible.

The only more emphatic support of my view, would've been if Pele had predicted Aguero to flop.

Argentina though, desperately need a goal scorer.

Peru have equalised just seconds from injury time!

The conditions are absurd, it's like a tropical storm out there, with gusting winds, torrential rain and hale storms, the camera lens is covered and the action barely visible at times.

But Peru are level at 1-1 with the full time whistle imminent. Brilliant scenes
