Simple as.

Our team need to forget about this shocking start and get back to playing good football. We played well away to Chelsea and went into todays game without four first teamers - 5 if you include the soon to return Aquilani.

We have two massive games in the CL coming up, two wins and we are sailing through. We have a massive game against Man Utd, win that and the gap is still do able and brings some confidence back to the club.

We got away with todays defeat due to Chelsea ****ing up as well, defeats for the top teams early doors suggest the title race will not be won with 90 poionts as per usual.

Our season is not over by a long shot. Any other previos year and i would have been inclined to agree. But a more competitive league and the knowledge our club can string together a run of wins proves to me we should not write our team of just yet.

all this has proved is we have a **** squad, and certain fringe players arent upto scratch....know tell us something we didnt know!!

scum were lucky as **** today only missing rooney and home to bolton......not many teams will go to chelsea, sunderland or Tottenham and win

I like the positive vote but the title challenge is over and rather than blaming our owners or players I put this firmly at Rafa's door. He should be getting more from the squad we have.

I just don't understand why, for several seasons now, a team which has finished the previous season playing some really good, dominating football, has started the following season playing so poorly.

However, you're totally right Dannyman, the next few games in the CL and League are going to be massive, especially the scum game next weekend. Pull out a result and things won't look great but we have the potential to avoid a disaster, whereas lose that game and the vultures really will be circling.

I think we'll come good..... mostly because the alternative is too depressing to consider properly.

We can't get a point off Villa, Spurs, Chavs and Sunderland and we lost to Fiorentina but we'll be fine against Lyon SCUM and Arsenal

I feel that way because regardless of misfortune and some good results that we are not playing well and Rafa is not getting enough from the players around our two superstars.

Benitez has taken us the furthest this team can go. It's an average squad in comparison to Chelsea and possibly even City. Until Benitez either develops players, which has only been one in his tenure (Insua), or buys better squad players, Liverpool won't win the title under him.

Thing is Benitez HASN'T been given as much money as manure, Chelski and Man City. I allow for that. However, he's not been given lampshades either (paraphrasing him).

The reason Benitez was brought in five years ago was because of his ability to find and make use of unknown squad players, ala at Valencia. If, now, we're saying his squad isn't good enough because he's not had money to spend on strengthening the squad (which is partly true as we've bought first teamers like Masch, Torres, Johnson, etc) then Rafa isn't the messiah we prayed for.

What Rafa needs is the same as any manager needs (i.e. inordinate amounts of dough), and if that's the case then we might as well have any manager.
