Like the positive look mate, i do believe that others top 4 teams will drop points and don't think the likes of Villa,Spurs,City and Everton will be challenging for top 4 spot and they will fade

summed up in four words.Originally posted by Joe King View PostBenitez has taken us the furthest this team can go. It's an average squad in comparison to Chelsea and possibly even City. Until Benitez either develops players, which has only been one in his tenure (Insua), or buys better squad players, Liverpool won't win the title under him.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Look at the money Chelsea and city have had to spend, someone posted in the match thread a comparison of the prices paid for ours and Sunderlands first 11 today. The prices were very close (£4m difference??) That shows that we're competing more at the levels of Sunderland etc than Chelsea, Man City and Man UtdOriginally posted by Joe King View PostBenitez has taken us the furthest this team can go. Benitez has had more than enough money to make a decent squad. Liverpool's top eleven side is good enough to challenge week in, week out however when you remove Gerrard and Torres, the side isn't good enough.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostLook at the money Chelsea and city have had to spend, someone posted in the match thread a comparison of the prices paid for ours and Sunderlands first 11 today. It is a decent squad the problem is 'decent squads' aren't good enough to win the league, he hasn't had enough money to create a championship winning squadOriginally posted by Joe King View PostBenitez has had more than enough money to make a decent squad. I'd like to think if Benitez didn't look at short fixes rather than looking to invest in ever promising youth with potentially high value later on (like Wenger at a higher monetary rate), the squad would have been far more developed to at least sustain a title challenge.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostIt is a decent squad the problem is 'decent squads' aren't good enough to win the league, he hasn't had enough money to create a championship winning squad

but its only this year he has had control of yoof set up.....and wenger has been here twice as long as Benitez. I would be gobsmacked if 4/5 players didnt come through in next few years......Originally posted by Joe King View PostI'd like to think if Benitez didn't look at short fixes rather than looking to invest in ever promising youth with potentially high value later on (like Wenger at a higher monetary rate), the squad would have been far more developed to at least sustain a title challenge.

How can you quit the depression
The days and nights are cold
The clocks go backwards next week, and the hours of sunlight are diminishing
RBS is rumoured to be paying its investment ******s £5million pounds each as a bonus in tomorrows times, which is all coming from us the tax payers.
We are still in an almightly ****ed up state in the country, the recession is going to bite harder for everyone this christmas.
Tax's are going to go up for a long time to come.
And the we also have the only 90minutes of relief away from all that, and were piss poor, just not good enough.
I hate the statements, Liverpool FC always does it the hardway.
No we did not in the glory years, not for decades.
We have a squad although heavily improved from the days of the mad french man, that cannot compete against teams that aren't even fit to lace our boots.
Lose against Lyon and thats bye bye to Champions league football for who knows when, because we certaintly are not going to make it into the top 4.
Depression is not the start of it, this is SAD.

the way the season has gone, we will be the team that is always one defeat away from a crisis. We dont have any give left in our results and unfortunately I cant see us only losing one or two more games throughout the season.
Waiting for the 'saviour' aquilani wont work either because he hasnt kicked a ball for 6 months and it will take him until at least xmas to find some fitness and form by which time we might have lost another 4 league games.
For me our title chances went out of the door with alonso. Rafa screwed him around as he did with crouch and Bellamy and They have all gone onto prove him wrong.
I think his time should be up at liverpool as he been bailed out of the **** on several ocassions by key individuals and should count himself lucky to still be in this job.
Yes Rafa doesnt have the other teams budgets but 5 defeats this season after a dozen games isnt good enough. He has made us into a two man team and this is what we were under houllier.
Then we had gerrard and owen, now we've got gerrard and torres. Another couple of seasons and we wont have gerrard.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

i cant see chelsea or scum only losing 1 or 2 more either.

we have about 8 games till christmas you really think we will lose half of them?
For me our title chances went out of the door with alonso. Rafa screwed him around as he did with crouch and Bellamy and They have all gone onto prove him wrong.
bollocks. i am almost certain Alonso would have left for madrid whatever the circumstances it was just to good an opportunity for him to go home. As for Crouch i presume you think he would have scored more than gerrard in that role? or do u think that we should have kept Gerrard in the centre? how would that have worked last year with Masher/alonso....on the right? oh no kuyt did rather well there last year. We wanted to keep crouch, he wanted to be more than an impact sub fair enough.....but no way is he good enough to break up the gerrard/Torres axis. Bellamy was wank for us, wasnt fantastic at West ham and is enjoying a purple patch, good player not convinced great....he just misses to many games and also is not prolific in the long run.
I think his time should be up at liverpool as he been bailed out of the **** on several ocassions by key individuals and should count himself lucky to still be in this job.
Key individuals that he bought? or key individuals that he decided on a new position for? ie Kuyt/Gerrard? ormaybe you mean reina, who is the best keeper in the premiership by a country mile.....oh yeh rafa bought him as well
Yes Rafa doesnt have the other teams budgets but 5 defeats this season after a dozen games isnt good enough. He has made us into a two man team and this is what we were under houllier.
yes your right we should have not spent 26million on 1 player we should have bought 5 players for 5million and filled our squad with ****!! we are a 2man team as we havent got the money to become a 3man team and buy (insert superstar here) .......instead of complaining we are a 2man team you should say fair play and thank god we have been blessed with Gerrard and Rafa saw something in torres that many managers didn, i was reading Andy cole over in dubai and he mentioned that Scum management didnt think his reactions were right in key situations. Our manager has got the best out of him as he has several other players
Then we had gerrard and owen, now we've got gerrard and torres. Another couple of seasons and we wont have gerrard
See above be ****ing grateful !!!!!!!!!Last edited by red g; 18-10-09, 03:17 PM._____________________________________

we couldnt have kept crouch though for reasons i have stated above. and Bellamy will be injured/pissed off/not in purple patch soon enoughOriginally posted by reds123 View PostThe irony is that 2 years ago we had Bellamy and Crouch who by thieir current standards are much well needed nowadays. We can't go on depending on Torres Torres Torres ..... and for assist Gerrard, Gerrard Gerrard... Kuyt is a hard worker and a good poacher but not an excellent player!_____________________________________
