Food for thought, check some facts instead of just wheeling out established misconceptions.

Could you refresh my memory on how many goals we CONCEDED due to set pieces this season? While you're at it you can give me the same stats for last season.

The current situation in not Rafa's fault. He needs proper backing, its as simple as that.

He took over the worst Liverpool team in decades and took us within a whisker of the title last season.

Based on the budget he has been given he has no right to compete with ManU & Chelsea but he is doing it!

Do you honestly think Jose could win this league with Rafa's budget? Like **** he could!

Cue one week: 3 of our most influential players are out, Torres, Gerrard and Mascher. We lose to a freak goal, albeit deservedly so, and now Rafa should go?
Not yet. We have gradually improved in the league under Rafa. Let's see how the season pans out before pushing him off the cliff.

One of the things I will hold against Rafa is replacing our player of the season with someone who is injured for a 3rd of our next season, probably over-estimating Lucas in the process. Another is changing formation when the team is off form. Not a good idea. We need stability when we are struggling.

New owners would be nice, yes. New owners who don't pull the rug away from under the manager during the summer and. Do you think Rafa would have spent 17 mill on a full back if he knew had to balance the budget? I cannot know, but I doubt it.

Now why don't you dig out stats backing YOUR side of the argument yourself, seeing as I did my part?

Im with you guys, it pains me to see us playing badly and losing this season but I have no doubt we will get a grip and whilst I dont see us winning the league this season now I honestly think we will be pushing for 2nd.
Rafa has his faults and sometimes it seems they are plain to see however I am pretty sure that no other manager would have got us to the stage where we honestly expected to win the league this season, especially given the cold hard facts about our ownership battle, financial struggles and the super rich nature of those teams above, around and even below us.
We have been over achieving and it will be a long hard battle to win the league again.

              Guus Hiddink for me too.

Great manager and has the ability to get the best out of the players he has got and if anyone can make Babel a player - it must be him.

I think that's a very good point considering the squad we had when he took over and the money he has had to spend he's done well to get us to the position we were in a title race last season

                    1 BAYER LEVERKUSEN 9 6 3 0 18:5 21
                    2 HAMBURG 9 6 3 0 20:8 21
                    3 SCHALKE 04 9 6 1 2 13:6 19
                    4 WERDER BREMEN 9 5 3 1 16:6 18
                    5 BAYERN 9 4 3 2 15:8 15

I watched game between Bayer and Hamburg yesterday.. and Sami was outstanding. I believe that he is since first game with Bayer... he was master in air, and his defence skills were very good.

I think everyone was gutted when Sami left, but the reasons were clear and everyone could understand his decision, again at the end of the day we had no option.

I dread to think where this club would be had we NOT had Rafa at the helm these past years, i really do, people think it's bad now...ALL things considered...pfffft.

We can say a player is'nt good enough, but i just wonder who we'd have playing for us now had Rafa been able to sign his first choice targets in the transfer market all these years, which lets be honest is what Rafa's direct rivals are able to do.

Anyway, i'm not getting into this.

If he's sacked, i'll pay my respects to him but he's not a world class manager and sunderland proved that. A world class could motivate a usless bunch of squad players like we have. I'll happly go without winning the title this year and next year if we have are squad and management completly revamped.

                              What we need to do:

                              1) Get an owner who fulufils their promises.
2)Sack Rafa- replace him with a world class manager e.g. Hiddink, Mourinho
3)Rebuild Squad- Kuyt, Bennie, Riera, Skrtel are good squad players. Nothing else. the only players i'd keep in our first team are Gerrard, Torres, Reina, Agger(maybe), Johnson, Macherano, Aquillini (maybe).
                              4) Win the league and restore our status as the best club in europe.

                              Y.N.W.A

sammi just wanted more games, i reckon.
