i wouldnt object to seeing a greek/agger defence but carragher/agger is my preference and see Jamie play out of his slump in form.

its weird that i think our corners are dreadful yet we have scored more than any other team...just imagine if we managed more than 1 in 5 that beat the first man!!

ps your right i **** bricks everytime the oppo win a corner, Houiller might have been ****e but he built a team of big brutes for sure....we used to tower over every team
He wasn't ****e. We owe him a lot.

I agree with you on most points but the team under Souness was worse than the one Rafa had when he took over, although the Houllier team was dross
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        Well said.

He won us a fair amount of cups and brought some success back to the club when we had been starved of it.

His last couple of seasons were poor and he took us backwards. Houllier should have really got the bullet after finishing 5th and going out to Basle in the CL, but I guess Moores and Parry figured they owed him a chance to get back on track.

Rafa has just finished our best premiership campaign to date, so to suggest he doesn't deserve until the end of the season is a joke. As with every manager around I feel he should be assessed at the end of every season, so the end of this one is no different to any others.

Of course certain exceptions can apply, continued defeats up in to and beyond January would put his job on the line. But Rafa is smart enough to know that is the case.

As it stands I do not expect our team to continue this poor run of form, nor can they afford too. But that is totally why I say you should all calm down and give Rafa until the end of the season. Because I think by the seasons end he will have turned it round and that we will have been involved at the very least in the high regions of the premiership. A title challenge will depend on how Aquilani settles.

Having said all that, I think that if Man Utd get number 19 then the pressure really will be on Rafa and he will have needed to win a trophy and competed in the league to keep people happy.
        Forwards.......

and then what! we are getting like scum fans thinking we have a divine right to win all that's put in front of us,
we want Arab sugar daddy's to bankroll us so we can buy the best foreign players in the world,we want to change the manager to the best money can buy,we want money to build the best stadium in the world.
maybe when all our dreams are realised we can change the name of the club come on liverpool fc is a bit old fashioned in this multi billion multi-national change we all desire,we dont want highs and lows which create real emotions while supporting our beloved team, we all want the instant fix, loads of money and no identity.
give me liverpool fc losing on a rain soaked night in Burnley anytime than the merseyside all stars playing in a stadium where 20 thousand of the 70 thousand capacity have come to watch a game of football and don't care who wins.
i am proper ****ed off with all this money ****, who the **** wants to win everything because we had more coin, no wonder at anfield we are not singing anymore. now where's that frozen vodka

Lets send Torres back home now then

Well done son.....fair play to you for realising your mistake and saying sorry.

it's a frustrating road being a liverpool supporter - but the joy of it is.... there is no turning !!

I've been a liverpool supporter for the past 35 years, it will get better son, (at least that's what ive been telling myself since 1989!) - but posting crap about sacking the manager will get us nowhere.

We have to believe that this will get turned around .... knee jerk reactions are no good - we are all hurting after this weekend, but, hopefully SG and Nando are now fit and Aquilani is near fitness..........hope is eternal !!

an etcha sketch would be funnier though, and probably more accurate

also, people go on about the amount of money that rafa has spent but in reality, he has sold a lot of players too and brought in a lot of cash as well - his net spend isn't that much for a team that has qualified for every champions league of the last 5 seasons...... the likes of spurs, newcastle, and even west ham at one point a few years ago have spent around the same as us.......for this reason alone, rafa would deserve a crack at spending big money if it came our way.......

Rafa is at a point where the next couple of months are make or break but he deserves a lot of backing - until at least the end of the season. A lot can change over a few games.... chelsea have lost 2 away games in a row and if we had the penalty we deserved in the first half at stamford bridge, then it is conceivable that they could have lost 3....

To the guy that wants hiddink or mourinho installed as manager......wake up..........hiddink wouldnt leave russia for chelsea so he's hardly going to leave us when russia are looking to get to the world cup......also, mourinho isnt going to leave inter in october/november either......it is so easy to say stuff like, "gewt mourinho, then sign villa, silva and higuain and then we can win the league" but seriously, think about what you are saying.....

at the end of the day, in rafa we have a manager that is 100% committed to the club. Most people would have ****ed off to Real Madrid or AC Milan after all the **** with the american owners. This is a man that also missed his fathers funeral to be with the team......it's disappointing that some "fans" have such short memories......

on another note, i do feel that Gerrard should have ruled himself out of the england squad immediately after the ukraine game..... the belarus match was a glorified friendly for **** sake........if he hadn't trained with england on the monday / tuesday, then it is likely that our captain would have made the sunderland match..... if that was Roy Keane in his manU days, he'd have ruled himself out and if the international manager wasnt happy, then **** him. LFC pays his wages and made him the player he is......he should put the club first.....
A fantastic well thought out post mate, definatly the best post yet out of this utter ****e that has been posted by several people in here.

ffs, some people need to get a grip

Rafa should get until the end of the season.

But at that point how can any owner give him more money now when he has had money and we are left with dross performances like yesterday. I've not seen any top 4 side play as badly as that ever. All this crap about if Rafa was backed with money he would buy better players. Would he? And if that's true, it's no good having the best players in the world if they take to the field disorganised because of a new formation, unmotivated and only decide to press the opposition in injury time!

Rafa bought Lucas, Babel, Kuyt, Benayoun, Aurelio, NGog, Voronin, Reira. These players should be decent but one of two things is true for ALL of these players.

                              Either:
                              1. They are **** players
                              2. They are not being coached, motivated or used correctly.

                              Which is it?

Steve Bruce is an average coach, but look how much more up for it his team were. His tactic of two strong front runners tore our three international centre halves to shreds every time. Only for Reina and luck we would have lost 4-0. How on earth can people not criticise Rafa when our defence are playing like they just met, we look vunerable from every set piece, when our defenders come out with the ball they have to turn around and pass it back because of lack of movement, our lone forward is dropping deep, our wingers are cutting inside, and we don't have a shot on target until injury time. We were missing our three best players but the least we can expect from a great coach is for his team to be organised and motivated.

Like I said, he has to the end of the season, but if it there is no sign of improvement and we are still relying on Torres and Gerrard then its time to cut lose and start a new five year plan. We can't give him forever.
