The whole "I need to earn a living thing" is a f*cking joke too, and if any professional footballer ever said that to me I'd have to **** him. Having to earn a living is working for normal wages without which you wouldn't be able to feed your family and pay the bills. Why are you all so angry that he isn't a massive liverpool fan anymore? just because he used to play for us it doesn't mean he has to be an LFC cheerleader for life.
I dislike him for a number of reasons, mainly because whenever he was injured at LFC, all he was ever concerned about was "getting fit for england".

Michael Owen only cares about one sport! and it's not football. His horses have been his priority for the 4 or 5 years. He see's football as his job which allows to enjoy his horses.

Can't really have a go at him for that, the lad is lucky enough to be in a position to enjoy what he wants and i'd do the same! ****ing hell if i was a millionaire footballer, i'd be spending all my time doing stuff i loved doing (drinking/shagging/eating - prob wouldn't last too long as footballer though)

That said - he is a little cunt though! - I first realised this when he first signed for newcastle and in his first interview or maybe after his first game, he said something along the lines off "i am hoping to get fit and play for england again" - never mentioned getting fit and playing for newcastle, he was only arsed about getting into the england squad and meeting frankie dettori later that evening to talk about horses

My abiding memory of him was when he celebrating scoring (a hat trick against Newcastle, i think?) with Ince and rubbed his hands, as if he was counting his winnings on a stupid in house wager, as opposed to celebrating with the fans.

Even though it was for us, i thought it was a pretty selfish action to celebrate like that.

a little toe rag of the highest order, he's got no ****ing class, even though he supported Everton as a boy - it was LFC that gave him the stage to make something of himself.

He should think twice about saying "Man U are a class club, from the Manager to the Tea Lady" - short memory Owen, you little ****, have you no respect for those who made you? He deserves every bit of abuse that comes his road next Sunday.......

Is correct - I remember exactly the same story. His mate was a dodgy bloke with a dodgy "lifestyle" and one of the Sunday papers did a spread on him and mentioned his links with a number of Liverpool players, Owen amongst them, and pointed out that goal celebration as mimicking this bloke's favoured gesture
