    442 to take us forward

Rafa's insistence in playing with a lone striker is holding us back. I'm not saying that it doesn't work on the pitch because with Gerrard playing behind him and a fully fit 11 we can beat anyone, but we'll never be able to attract another top striker to sit on the bench.

When he's injured we're left with young inexperienced potential, or 2nd class experience.

If we brought someone in of the quality of Eto/Villa to play alongside Torres, Gerrard could still play a more forward role (though not as free running as he is now) as a quality partner would help pin the opposition back a yard or two.

But then where would that leave Aquilani fit in?

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Where do we get the money from for that?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Rafa normally has between 20m and 30m to spend. We need to offload one or two players which we could make do without (Babel, Voronin, Dossena). The rest of the squad would be fine with the addition of another top quality striker.

This would work if we are not playing Torres...yesterday we would have benefitted from playing 4-4-2 as I dont feel any of Ngog, babel or Voronin can play the lone striker role. However Torres (even for Spain) I feels plays better with someone playing off of him a little deeper.

I loathe our single striker formtion.

All our best teams played with 2 - as do everybody elses!

Manchester United and Chelsea in the last few years have played with one up top. As arguably have/do Barcelona. All as we are all aware totally useless teams.

Dunno. I always thought Barca were fairly handy.
