Was at fault for the equalizer last night as he started walking away from his "zone" as soon as the first shot was saved by Reina & thereby cut Kelly's brilliant debut short as he (Kelly) almost broke his leg on the post trying to stop the ball from going in.
Furthermore he gave the ball away 90% of the time & to top it all off after Kelly's brilliant left foot cross, all Ngog could do was softly kick the ball into touch for a goal kick.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how he started ahead of Babel & even Voronin (who are considered more senior players), let alone played the entire 90 mins ffs!

I'm not bashing, I just want to check that I'm not losing my mind. Last night when Rafa subbed Yossi instead of Ngog I thought I was in the Twilight Zone it baffled me so much - so much so that I didn't watch the last 10 mins of the match! I would just like to know what the general consensus is or maybe I'm wrong, that's all...

i thought he did well actually.
granted, he could have scored one or two but then again he's only a young lad. he showed some nice touches and clever movement and he could develop into a handy player.

He was playing as a lone striker and almost a target man at times, he wasn't able to control most of the passes up to him because they were fired up around head and shoulder height, he did well with some of them but often lost possession because there was no one supporting him. Playing up front on your own is very tough even for the best players He started ahead of Babel and Voronin because neither of them are out and out strikers, they are more second strikers. Plus Babel's form has been woeful. Ngog had a decent game against Leeds and a few useful cameo appearences.

Blaming him for the goal is a little harsh IMO

Yes he gave the ball away too many times when it came to him. Most people on this forum are basing his performance on a fancy trick in the 2nd half that nearly came off.

Ngog was forced to play alone to start with, and then to make things worse his only supply went out injured. If that couldn't get worse for him he then had to play alongside a woefully out of form Kuyt. Give the youngster a break, I thought he did OK. Yes he gave the ball away sometimes but on a better day in a better Liverpool side he would do and has done much better.

he has been better but he was piss poor last night, I was in the lower anny and think he only won 1 ball all night and that was just after Yossi got taken off, I've seen him score 2 great goals that reminded me a young Anelka but I think at the moment he's too lightweight for the first team

watching amoo and ecclestone again tonight and cant help but think i would prefer them ahead of n;gog they just seem to have more about them
