I actually think that's his weakest area. I saw him in the summer for the young French team as well as the reserves last year and he still shows similar traits.

I think his all round game is impressive but that at present he lacks a killer instinct. Too often he looks to pass or flaps at goal in a good situation. I think if he can just get his head right he could be a VERY usefull player for the club. He just needs to be more selfish.
    Forwards.......

Well like I said before, I honestly do hope he turns out to be worth the time and effort. I honestly dont see it, but I still wish him every bit of luck possible that I can muster. Being proven wrong is always a wonderful thing. I just hope it comes sooner rather than later if it does.

Because slating a yound lad like N'Gog and comparing him to a £17m signing like Nani is bordering on insane. Nani at Sproting Lisbon was an established player and was fully expected to turn up at United and put pressure on the first team with immediate effect. He has failed to live up to that billing.

N'Gog was not even established at PSG and was hardly considered back up to the first team either there. He is not yet good enough to lead the line for Liverpool but he is still very early in his development.

When N'Gog plays in the reserves he stands out as our best attacking player, better than Amoo, Eccleston and a confidence shorn Nemeth last year. He deserves to be where he is in the team because he is probably our best option due to an under performing Babel and Voronin.

I think it's a crying shame that N'Gog is being asked to do the job of a seasoned professional - he's no Rooney or Owen wonderkid - but it's not his fault Liverpool Football Club did not bring in adequate cover For Torres.

But he did well against Leeds, less so against Lyon. Maybe a goal against United will see him kick on.
Looking forward to the Arsenal game now, it should be a good test for him.

During pre-season when he first signed, I remember thinking that he played like Djimi Traore up front. He then got a goal in one of the friendlies and completely transformed, suddenly showing some lovely touches, leading to some fans comparing him to Anelka.

Again, when I first seen him for the reserves I thought he looked out of his depth even at that level and had written him off. I didn’t watch a few games for a while, but the next time I did he was awesome, again looking a completely different player with a bit of confidence for both the reserves and French youth.

Really interested now to see if he’ll continue this trend, with Arsenal being the perfect opportunity and the likely chance of more game time while Torres gets back to full fitness.

        Good post BTW DannyMan.

Liverpool striker David Ngog says netting the second goal to seal the win over Manchester United was the biggest moment in his career.

The 20-year-old came on for Fernando Torres with just minutes left of the game and the Reds hanging on to a one goal lead but the Frenchman was on hand to slot the ball past Edwin van der Sar in injury time to ensure the victory.

He told the official website: "This was a fantastic moment for me and the team and I would say it's my best moment in football.

"I have always dreamed of scoring a goal for Liverpool against Manchester United and now it has happened and it is a really good feeling.

"I dedicate this goal to my family who always support me and the Liverpool supporters. We know how much this victory means to our supporters.

"I also give thanks to my teammates and the manager for always showing faith in me.

"We know we have a lot of quality so this result means everything for the team. We have worked really hard together and I think we deserved to win."

Furthermore he gave the ball away 90% of the time & to top it all off after Kelly's brilliant left foot cross, all Ngog could do was softly kick the ball into touch for a goal kick.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how he started ahead of Babel & even Voronin (who are considered more senior players), let alone played the entire 90 mins ffs!

                Thoughts?
Only just seen this, but my thoughts were everybody except Kelly pushed up, hence Kelly played a whole bunch of people onside. Not knocking the lad, he was brilliant, but that's what happened.
