    Agger and Yossi

I believe that Agger was one of the key reasons we played so much better than recently.
Fit again and in his preferred position, i think his class and quality in breaking up play, reading play and bringing the ball out of defense and distributing intelligently makes us a superior side.
Long may he remain fit as he adds something to the team.

As far as Yossi is concerned, for me he was MOM. He constantly beat his man, tracked back and once again has proved that he is far better then people ever gave him credit for. He is a vital starting 11 player.

very similar to Beardsley........As for Agger he is the calming influence and the ball player in defence......where as i think skrtel will panic and make rash challenges which he needs to cut out

During the first half, I thought both Agger and Aurelio’s class and composure were key. At times the ball was like a hot potato, but they always looked comfortable, and as Bender has mentioned, added a much needed calming influence to the team.

I though Benni did a similar job after we went one up. As United tired to up the tempo and put us under Pressure, the little Israeli was always available, carrying the ball and using it wisely. I though he started well for the first ten minutes, was quiet for the next 50 or so, but finished brilliantly. Great assist for Nando.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Agree with both of these points. Agger is so much calmer than Skrtel who tends to be a bit rash. Also Carra seemed to have more confidence with Agger playing at his side and thus played to his normal level.

With Yossi I have to admit to being someone who, last season, thought he wasn't good enough for us but towards the end of last season and the whole of this season so far he certainly deserves to be one of the first names on the team sheet. Plus he brings a much needed creativity to us.

Let's hope both remain fully fit for the rest of the season.

He defended well, but I thought his constant hoofing of the ball continually put us under unnecessary pressure. He could easily have went off or conceded a penalty and again the knives would be out.

When? The Carrick incident? He clearly won the ball, even the united players didn't appeal ()
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's just taking the piss with regards to Carra pulling Owen down as he got goal side of him.

It was against United. I'm seen them awarded for much less.

True, but I've certainly seen them given for a lot less. He did win the ball, but it was also reckless and he took a lot of the man afterwards. I'm not saying I think it was a penalty, just that it could have easily been given us such.

It was a good tackle though so you can't really criticise a player on the basis that the wrong decision could have been given.

But it's not like the old days where the rule is that if you get the ball then that is all that counts. Nowadays the referees have to take into account whether they consider the tackle dangerous, and considering that Carragher's studs were showing and how he followed through on Carrick, other referees may have given it. I think it's more down to their interpretation than whether it's right or wrong as you said.
