****ing hell, some beauties in there.

"But would you spend £100,000 on a car, only for the salesman to say you won't be able to drive it for four months as it's not quite ready?"

Errm yes I would Mark. If the car I thought was the best was only ready in a few months and I was spending such a huge amount I'd be happy to wait rather than get something inferior because I could drive it straight away.

"And incredibly, after overseeing 150 transfers in five years at Anfield, Benitez now looks to have the weakest squad of his whole reign."

That's just completely mental. Even Merson would find it hard to make such a statement.
"My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.

some of these 'pundits' are ****ing embarrasing. - You can see what's happened though - all these ex pro's want a slice of the money in the game now, and by the fact they are an ex pro, it means they can just spout any nonense they want and get it into mainstream media - they make it as arguementive and try and be controversial as they can and end up looking stupid. Paul Merson is by far the worst - not just his comments at liverpool but literally everything he says on soccer saturday is embarrasing - he is just a blithering old buffoon

With regards liverpool - it's ****ing frustrating but i can see why - as i have said before, we are the easiest target for the media, especially for those with no brains to do some research and write something original - We are a massive club, with passionate fans, that have major problems on and off the pitch. So it's the easiest option for these dicks to get any kinda reaction.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

        As for the article

Bright is entitled to his views as is everyone else, doesn't make him right. What people on here have to remember is that a league title is won on the football field, not in the managers office, not in the press conferences and not in the media.

If Rafa gets sacked by Liverpool it will be down to failing to get results, not because the media don't like him.

The only real effect the media can have is when they poor petrol on the fire. If there had been a REAL crisis at Liverpool they can help make it get out of hand. The way the players played for Rafa on Sunday showed that there is no such crisis at Anfield.

Towards the end of last season Liverpool were praised in all areas of the media for their vibrant attacking displays, and it led many Journos to tip LFC for the title this season. A poor start has obviously led many to believe last year was our best chance.

What makes me laugh about Brights piece is that he clearly sees the Aquilani signing as a stick to beat Rafa with due to him being out injured, but then fails to recognise the fact that his return could assist Liverpools season.

If the season was to be paused now and every club and set of fans could pick a player to sign for the first XI, Liverpool would pick a midfielder. Well, lucky enough for us in that is exactly what we are getting in our £19m signing Aquilani. Bright and co. should take note.
        Forwards.......

          Mark Bright

How this guy can make a (good) living from spouting this nonsense is a joke FFS
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Haha. I came to this thread to mention this. I hate his guts. His latest piece of **** has prompted an email from yours truly. As follows:

            Dear Metro

Mark Bright’s column is now officially an absolute joke. He should save himself the bother of typing his drivel every week, write “I hate Liverpool, I hate Benitez, they are both crap, boo-hoo”, and just do a copy and paste job over and over again. I don’t even support The Reds but his cack-handed efforts are embarrassing. He can’t even spell Xabi Alonso’s name correctly. The unfortunately-named Bright is one of a plethora of bitter ex-pros-turned-pundits who come from a generation when Liverpool won everything and appear to be holding some sort of preposterous vendetta against the club for their non-existent collection of medals. I’m a Man City fan but even I can see the treatment Liverpool receive in the media, particularly from Bright, is utterly myopic and ill-informed. Anyone would think Benitez was on the brink of taking them down! Bright obviously never gave them a prayer of beating United and had his knives gleefully sharpened and at the ready – but Liverpool were impressive, won well, yet Bright, with his nose totally out of joint, went ahead with his tiresome “I hate Liverpool” garbage anyway. It’s pathetic.

I think Bright may even be able to work out that you weren't exactly telling the truth about who you support.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Even Hull's chairman is having a go now.
It's all pretty amusing coming off the back of spanking the mancs.

"Everything you do in life is about adding value," he said. "If you look at the squad that Phil Brown has got and what he will do with that this season compared possibly to the squad that Rafa has got, I think you'll find that Phil will come out on top in terms of how you add value to a group of footballers."

Hmmm, I think if he looks at the value of Alonso when he was bought and sold and the purchase prices of Torres and Mascherano and their current values he might have a rethink. Does every dipstick in football think it's open season on Rafa at the moment?

And how would Phil Brown get along managing a group consisting of a number of world class players I wonder? Would he attempt his half time dressing down on the pitch with them? They'd laugh him out of the club

Reading that Bright article again, is it just me?

Or does he appear not to know the correct way of constructing paragraphs?

Phil Brown and his mate Allardyce are the 2 biggest ****s in the PL.

Not open for discussion unless someone wants to argue with me that I haven't quite been abusive enough towards them

Me too. I now watch the much more balanced views espoused on Countdown to Kick-off on Liverpool FC TV. I want to throw a brick at the screen when I see Redknapp/Keys/Gray talking their utter, utter, total and complete ****e. Now my pre-match viewing is altogether less stressful!

You have to bear in mind that those incoherent ramblings were uttered by the same person who confidently predicted that Torres would be a flop when we signed him because he wouldn't be able to cope with the physical demands of the English game and he would be easily outscored in his first season by Darren Bent.

He's a tosser - nothing more to say really
