    Exactly right.

What we have to remember is that if rafa went and won the league they'd all have him as manager of the year and be patting themselves on the back saying they knew it would be Liverpools year, reeling out pre season predictions that had us as one of the favourites.

If the media were a club I'd have them down as Real Madrid, sacking the coach every season.
    Forwards.......

Didn't bother reading Northcrofts article as soon as i read the marks out of 10 for the players and saw he gave 9 to Rooney, fair enough, but only 8 to Torres???

I think if you asked any manager in the world who they would prefer out of the 2 and i bet every one (even ferguson if he was honest) would go for Torres.

disappointed in the article though as i would always have considered the ST to be above the sensatonalists stuff the red tops go with.

Wow, Merson got that totally wrong didn't he.

Also contradicts himself in the space of one article...

"That Moscow game was a walk in the park for them, a bit like a pre-season game.

          followed by...

"Man United are falling over the line in their games at the moment, Chelsea have had two shocking results against Wigan and Villa - so at the moment Arsenal are better than anybody. They are right in the title race."

Anything to prop up Arsenal's title ambitions eh?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The media can go **** themselves. It's clear they have it in for Rafa, it's probably because he takes no **** from and gives very little away.
                  Cunts.

If any other top 4 club had been in the same position as us the knives would have been out for them, I agree on the sentiment here but its the nature & size of the knives I have a problem with. Its way too personal for my liking. ?? maybe less so Man Utd as they have past experience of starting slowly and then hitting their stride. Liverpool have been an easier target as writing us off was less likely to result in them being shown up.

Ripping the shreds from the top teams sells newspapers. Also remember that a lot of Journos are fans of the other clubs. Rafa has his allies thanks to LFC fans in the media so it's not all one way. Who? Kay & Barret in the Times are the only ones I can think of

Prior to yesterdays game most fans on here predicted a defeat for the club and five defeats on the spin, so the media are obviously going to be thinking the same.

The only difference is the sensational headlines. Martin Lipton (mirror) had it down that Rafa would be sacked if they failed to make the top 4 and that defeat to Man Utd would cost them a spot in the top 4. The headline? Something along the lines of Rafa to get the chop if Man Ud win!

As you'll se above I agree with some of what you're saying but this method of ignoring the issue really isn't a solution as the vast majority of "fans" who ring 606 or Sky Sports or post on internet message boards ( ) are heavily influenced by the media. There was a guy on the Guardian podcast last week openly encouraging the LFC fans to boo Rafa more often so that he'll get the sack & used Southgate as an example.

Its a serious issue. Look at the reports today. Only Hansens mentions the fact the "Worlds Scariest/Best/Bravest Defender who Lord Fergie of Whodoesnowrong signed for a bargain" was scared ****less of Torres. No reports mention how the same Lord completely made a bollix of his team selection by putting in a couple of 40 somethings against one of the most mobile midfields in the country. No reports mention that we beat the ****ing scum without our best player but yet we're supposed to be a "2 man team" FFS Get real man. Its gonna get worse & I for one have a momumental problem with a bunch of Cockney & Manc hacks making it their 'raison d'etre' to get Rafa out of LFC.

My solution here is for Rafa to recognise this & use it with the players the same way Ferguson used it in the early 90s. All the media are against us. The southern hacks don't want us to win the league etc. It worked a bleedin charm & I see no reason how an extra couple of % in motivation would do any harm in bringing home # 19.

Could not believe the number of calls claiming Mancs got no decisions and Ref was a HOMER!!

That is unbelievable -just watch the number of fouls given by Reds 20 -and how many we won tackles fairly but referee didn't give us the decision!!!

                          Watched it twice!!

I have given up watching the pre & post match analysis on Sky Sports. They are all a joke. They have Jamie Redknapp as a chief pundit ffs.
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful
