    By who?

I very much doubt either would have got a look in back in the day, but neither squad is flush with quality at Left Back at present.
    Forwards.......

Was on about Lucas and Aurelio.

Just people in work and the bar during the usual Lucas is **** debates. Oh, the laughs they had.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Lucas was in the Brazil squad prior to the start of this season, so I'm not suprised he's in it.

He wouldn't be in my strongest Liverpool XI, so for that reason I am partly suprised he's in the Brazil squad, but Dunga obviously knows him well.

That doesn't matter to them, apparantly he's just not a footballer. Everyone shook their heads in embarassment at the idea, even the clued up supporters of other teams.

I'd still say Lucas is on the fringes of the squad though, and will probably need and should step it up a gear during the season.

If (big if) Aurelio can stay fit and perform like he did last year and against United on Sunday, he has to be a shoe-in. (I've never wrote shoe-in before, is that even the right expression?)

It's actually "boot-in", so to stop yourself from even further embarrassment you should use that from now on

              haha

I was a ''boot-in'' to have got that one wrong. Why didn't I just spend 30 seconds to check first time.

On a side note, is Kurtangle banned? Haven't seen him around lately

The other good thing about our players being involved in world cups is that it will give them more experience which can help make them better players.

Made up for Fabio, but he does have that curse going on. The two previous times he's been called up since the Olympics he's ended up with serious injuries that required surgery and months-long recoveries. Can only hope this does not follow that same pattern.

Of course Rafa knows him, and the fact he has stood by Lucas shows he has great faith in the player.

But if we get to the Champions League final, and we had a whole squad to choose from of fit and on form players, I do not believe Lucas would make the starting XI. I think it would be a midfield pairing of Aquilani and Mascherano.
