How much did we get for him?

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

thought I would give this a bump. I was talking to a mate about him... what kind of reception do you think he will get when he comes back to Anfield?

              A good one of course.

I don't think there is any reason to give him a bad reception. It didn't work out for him with us, but there is surely no animosity is there?

Plus he scored against the Mancs and Real Madrid, so he deserves a rapturous reception for that alone.

that is exactly what I was thinking... Do you think if he got subbed he would get an ovation or just a clap but?

To quote Dame Edna "I'm sure he'll get the clap he richly deserves"

                      A clap but what?

Do Australiens also do that thing that Irish people do? But so
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Haha have you never noticed Aussies saying but at the end of everything? It's almost as common as Aussie cricketers and other sportsmen saying "Arr look" at the start of every sentence.

I can honestly say that his post is the first time I've picked up on it!

It's quite cute in a way but

I think he'll get a decent reception. Clearly his career was at full stop with us and he needed to leave to resurrect it. I have no bad feelings toward him but I wish he had miserable 2 games.

?? Never heard it in my life and I lived there for most of it. Maybe it's something those Queensland hicks do.

There is, however, Aussie question intonation, where we make every sentence sound like a question, hey.

When I was there I was always like "but what?" and they'd be looking back at me like I'm mad.

Yes, the high rising terminal is a killer. As well as the lengthenening of vowel sounds in specific words, I can't handle it. It's all like:

"So thees uftannooooo-wun I was theenkeen of go'un shopeeeing"

The "I" sound as a double e also gets me.

                                -----------

On Dossena there's no reason to give him anything other than a good reception. He isn't a particularly good player, nor did he play very well but he tried hard and seemed a nice guy. His behaviour was always excellent and appeared to get on with the other players/staff. I must say he's a player that I have a soft spot for.

Also, regarding his play I have always thought that he is a good crosser of the ball, something that he never really got credit for. He hit in a few very dangerous balls and switched the ball to the other flank very well.

Too bad he couldn't resist those doughnuts.
