Tbh, im going to get shot down here but.. I still think he has quite abit of use, as a Left winger! He can shift, and can put a decent ball in. I don't think we should sell until we have someone in who's going to do any better.

The agent of unsettled Liverpool left back Andrea Dossena, Federico Pastorello, has told the press that the former Udinese star would prefer a move to Roma.

"Andrea Dossena has always liked Ranieri, although I haven't heard from anyone [at Roma]," he revealed to AsRomaLive.it.

"Roma tried to acquire Andrea before he moved to Liverpool, but preferred [John Arne] Riise. My client, over the past year, has had several requests, including from Napoli. Ranieri tried to take him to Juventus, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was still among his favourites."

The player's representative explained that the 28-year-old is still hoping for a place in the World Cup squad, after featuring for the Azzurri last summer in the Confederations Cup.

"At Liverpool he is just collecting appearances on the bench. The Reds are asking about €5 million for his signature," he continued.

"Lippi has called him up several times, the next few months will be vital for South Africa."

€5 would at least be something back...

I'd do a straight swap for Riise to be honest

If he actually gained some technical ability, or else it would be unbearable with him and Carragher playing golf 'wood/iron/wedge' shots 200yards down to no one

Andrea Dossena's agent has once again revealed Napoli and Roma are interested in the Liverpool defender.

The 28-year-old left-back has been frozen out at Anfield this season and constant speculation has linked him with a January move back to Serie A.

The Italy international has in the past spoken of his desire to leave the Merseyside club in order to get some first-team football under his belt and ensure a place in the Azzurri squad for the 2010 World Cup.

Dossena's agent Roberto La Florio played down speculation linking the defender with a move to Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, although admitted Napoli and Roma remain interested.

"I don't know anything about an interest from Zenit St Petersburg," he told tuttomercatoweb.com.

"But I can say that there was contact with Napoli and Roma also remain interested."

Dossena has had a difficult 18 months at Anfield since moving from Udinese and was tipped to secure a switch back to Italy over the summer.

A deal with Napoli broke down amid suggestions that personal terms could not be agreed but president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made no secret of his interest.

                  Dossena linked with Spain move
Reds defender's agent rules out switch to Napoli

Last updated: 29th December 2009 [Sky]

Andrea Dossena's agent has claimed the defender is close to moving to an unnamed Spanish club.

The Liverpool full-back has been the subject of constant speculation and seems certain to leave Anfield during the January transfer window.

Dossena has failed to live up to his £7million price tag since joining the Reds from Udinese 18 months ago and a return to his native Italy had been touted as the most likely scenario.

However, one of Dossena's agents, Federico Pastorello, has labelled a move to Serie A club Napoli as 'impossible'.

"A move to Napoli is impossible," he told TuttoNapoli.net. "The negotiations for a possible move for Dossena to Napoli are over.

"If I was to make a prediction I would say that Andrea will not return to Italy.

"We are in negotiations with several foreign clubs, with a very important Spanish club who are not in European competition - the deal is even at an advanced stage."

The 28-year-old Italy international is keen to move away from Anfield as he looks to secure his place in the Azzurri squad for the 2010 World Cup.
"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

THE agent of unsettled Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena has claimed a deal is at an “advanced stage” for the full-back to move to Spain.

Representative Federico Pastorello has ruled out a return to Italy for the full-back who has failed to sparkle at Anfield, claiming that Spain is a likelier destination.

“We are in negotiations with several foreign clubs, with a very important Spanish club who are not in European competition – the deal is even at an advanced stage,” said Pastorello.

Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has flown to Liverpool in an attempt to reel in Andrea Dossena.

Sky Sport Italia claim the Partenopei are still keen on landing the stopper who has been tipped to leave Anfield. Dossena has endured a tough time in Merseyside since joining them from Udinese, and Napoli are ready to offer him a quick exit.

The report suggests Bigon will speak with the player, who has been linked with Roma and a number of Spanish clubs, and offer him a deal. It's no secret Dossena wants to return to Italy. He also wants regular action, something which has been limited under Rafael Benitez.

Napoli had already spoken with the Italian in the summer, but talks broke down after the two sides were unable to agree on terms.

Andrea Dossena's agent has reiterated that his client's future remains a subject of much uncertainty.

The Liverpool defender is reported to be a January transfer target for a number of Serie A clubs keen to take him back to his homeland.

However, the Reds appear reluctant to do business, despite Dossena being regarded as little more than a squad player at Anfield.

Speculation continues to suggest that it is only a matter of time before a deal is struck, but for now stalemate has been allowed to set in.

"There is no news about Andrea," Dossena's agent, Roberto La Florio, told calciomercato.it.

"At the moment everything is blocked. It all depends on Liverpool who, until now, seem to have no intention of altering their strategy."

La Florio has also ruled out the possibility of Dossena being allowed to leave on loan, with any potential deal needing to see Liverpool recoup the majority of the £7million they paid Udinese for the Italy international in July 2008.

He added: "A loan with the possibility of being signed at the end of the season? At the moment I don't think Liverpool would consider this option."

Napoli, Roma and Juventus have all been linked with the versatile 28-year-old in recent weeks.
