Wasn't at the game but remember the commotion it caused in work the next day. TBH it was a great goal but not what I expected. It was just part of Anfield folklore wasn't it? Probably better off never seeing it! It reminds me of my dad who told me of a "wonder goal" scored by Albert Stubbins he'd witnessed at the Kop end in the 50s. He used to tell me it was a diving header bulleted into the top corner in three inches of snow from 40 yards!!
Finally spotted what I think was the "wonder goal" a few years ago. It turned out to be a sort of jammy header that rolled into the corner of the goal. The keeper could have thrown his cap on it and it was from about 15 yards out!
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

I expected a goal similar to Zimbos description Great goal, but hardl the best ever at Anfield. I suppose the oppsition has to be taken into account mind.
Good goal, but surely one of the biggest anti-climax's of all time. Let's be honest and not let sentimentality cloud our judgement.... better goals are scored in the premier league week in week out. I wish I hadn't seen it so I could always picture it as something remarkable.
And i don't for one minute believe that the footage came from a police crowd surveillance camera!!!

You're clearly not a football man

He won the ball in his own half, dribbled 70yds through their team and unleashed a controlled powerful drive. Now days we'd need canoes to paddle through the wankfest if it'd been Stevie G who'd scored it. Not the best goal ever but certainly not an anti-climax.

If that was a police camera, why on earth was it following the action, especially when the lad jumped out of the crowd at the end?

            Good goal though

                        Absolutley Royzared,

can't get sick of watching big Jan scoring against the mancs, King Kenny.

I was just thinking when watching this the other night, he was one of our best central midfielders i've ever seen in our jersey...

Bar Souness, obviously Stevie G and maybe Didi Hamann and Alonso, would rate big Jan up there.

                        DALGLISH !! :respect

Molby was leagues ahead of the one-season-wonder!

take into account the type of ball used today.
