That wasn't Barnes's first goal though. As I remember, his first was against Oxford on his Anfield debut. Curled round the wall into the top corner. Incidentally, that remains the best home debut I've seen.Originally posted by Agger the Dagger View PostPatrik Berger's v Leicester - what a cracker

Aquilani would've had one if Arse didn't have two goalies in the box

Was that his first goal for the club?Originally posted by Jachob View PostMellors against arsenal was a great goal
If so that's probably up there both for the strike itself and the last minute drama.
I remember thinking "don't waste it, don't hit it.... ok then, hit it

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

How about

Just because Robbie is of course God, and God's first goal is automatically superior to those of mere mortals......
Or how about this one?

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Best one because it was his debut and also because of the pressure. It was a boring game that had nil nil written all over it, other than that one piece of magic.Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostCollymore's was a bit special on his debut Vs Sheffield Wednesday. There was big pressure on him being the most expensive British player.Forwards.......
