I was at Highbury to see Aldridge's header. I'm pretty sure it was the same game when Nicol got the winner late in the second half heading in from somewhere round the edge of the box. I could be wrong as it was over 20 years ago and they may have been different games, but I remember Aldridge and Nicol were in that horrible grey Crown Paints top, so it could have been thr same game

Nigel Clough got 2 on his debut at home to Sheffied Wednesday. Both very good goals from memory. I'd have to say Collymores was the best debut goal. One wonders what could have been if he wasn't a head case.

Mark Kennedys debut against Leeds would have been the best goal only the cross bar got in the way. Seen him afterwards leaving anfield in a tiny white opel astra type car. No Bentleys back then.

I also remember God's debut goal at anfield. It wasn't for Liverpool but for England in the Under 18 european championships. A right foot volley from out on the right touch line, near the dug outs. Some way to announce your arrival.

That goal made me break the piggy bank and shell out £1 a letter for his name rather than Rush!

I remember Gerrard's well (little Davey T scored a cracker in the same game) but by then Wednesday were a very poor side and I think the fact Nando's game against top opposition edges it for him.

I liked Cloughy. He came at the wrong time when a young and upcoming Robbie Fowler was starting to make headlines. Was that the goal where he back healed it into the net?

Also Collymore's which one was that. I seemed to remember a goal where he looked like he was making a meal of it, trying one way, then another and then a chip shot which looked like it took more dirt then ball?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                Mine angry and defrauded young?
