What Rafa is saying is... (read it carefully)

Yes we are not winning trophies at the moment, but we are building up to it...

When we start winning trophies it will be like the days of old, when we win alot on the trot...

Success has to start somewhere, and we will be where we rightfully deserve to be soon....

    Chill....
    Patience goes a long way.....

I agree. The title of that article is misleading, what Rafa is saying is not as negative as some of you want to see it. In a nutshell:

“Trophies mean a lot to everyone. But the most important thing is to see progression and evidence that you are improving and able to fight for trophies."

On current form there is no evidence of progression, infact its regression and depression.
        We come not to play.

Aye, that's true. We're so underperforming it's painful.

The point he makes is clear IMO - the fact we are not winning trophies does not reflect the fact we are progressing according to Rafa.

Depressing reality is that the squad and team has gone backwards this season whether anyone likes it or not.

This of all seasons is when we should have really kicked on.......from last season but if anything the team has imploded

We are a disjointed mess. After 5 years of buying and moulding players he should have us in far better shape by now, instead we have a core of 5 or so key players and a coachload of transfer flops. I love Rafa but talk of him being the best there is seems pretty hollow when the evidence out on the pitch so blatantly indicates otherwise.

It's not the point though. It's your league position that counts, not the total points. We got 86 points last season and came second. If this year we got 82 but won the league, would that be a step backwards?

I don't see whats wrong with this to be fair. Times have changed and there are now more teams that can outspend us in the league and ONLY ONE TEAM CAN WIN. Almost every league title is won with the team which has cost the most money to assemble and that is quite clearly not us.

I have a problem with other elements of Rafa's decisions at the moment, this is not one of them.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

I heard the other day that Chelsea were 600mill in the red, that's the sort of money they've spent on wages/ players etc since the Russian came in.

No ****in wonder they are top of the league.

                            Perspective.

We as a club play under huge pressure, don't underestimate that fact, we are expected to compete with clubs far wealthier, all the time with a higher expectation placed on us because of our history in the game.

Not to mention the constant **** stirrring in the press.

It's not just affording players that's difficult, it's attracting them, i sometimes feel people really do underestimate the uphill battle Rafa has.

Just reading a few articles about our current situation and apparently Benitez stated that fans need to be "realistic" about our run of defeats. That I have a problem with. 11 games in an we're as close to the relegation zone as we are to the top. I think its pretty unrealistic of Rafa to expect us to accept that.

Don't read it mate! I've ignored absolutely everything. As soon as the whistle went, turned it off and buried my head in the sand. It's the only way I can cope with it.
