Actually I thought about Hodgson this morning. I think he is an excellent manager who has one last BIG job in him.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostOk, I don't want Rafa to leave but in the spirit of contributing to the thread I will say Roy Hodgson is an option, out of contract at the end of the season, vastly experienced in a number of countries and is always dignified and respectful.
But Rafa won't go so get your money on Hodgson being the next England manager

Not a strong enough character IMO. Great tactician but just lacks the presence a Liverpool Manager should have. IMO.Originally posted by Reece View PostActually I thought about Hodgson this morning. I think he is an excellent manager who has one last BIG job in him.

So you don't think we'd have had at least a small chance of getting back in the game with Torres and Benny still on?Originally posted by Vermilion View PostThis is the 1st time it's been really bad, mainly down to injuries and loss of form in the defence, and it surprises me how many are quick to jump in and stab the man in the back.
Nor that when a team is out of sorts it's a managers job to motivate 'em?
Agree, too early to get rid, but I can understand the sentiment.
However the most important point made on this thread would have to be **** of jose.

Also I'm not sure if I mentioned it but, **** OFF JOSE.

Did you mention **** OFF JOSE, or did I miss that? can you confirm that you did mention it... as I'd appreciate your point of view on this....
(ps Im backing your comments 100%)
My problem is and will always be with the two **** owners we have!
Blame the manager. Rafas an easy target... fact is - anyone else who comes in will have exactly the same players to use as Rafa has...
This is a nightmare. And it all started with GREEDY MR MOORES selling our club out from under us!!

rafa has been the victim of his own success. As mentioned by him, me and amongst many others we did over acheive last year......which i am sure led those stupid ****ing yanks to believe that we could win it this year without investment.
Plan backfired big time, but i will bank on them not changing trasnfer policy!!_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

We may have had a small chance yes, but we don't know what the situation with Torres is, Rafa does, we do know he's not fully fit, and him having to do all the running chasing a game is not a good situation to be put in just now, knowing Torres he'd have done too much and made what is a short term recovery time into a major issue.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostSo you don't think we'd have had at least a small chance of getting back in the game with Torres and Benny still on?

As for motivating the players, of course it's a managers job, but when a player, or a defence is out of form then no amount of motivation will change that, it's the first time our defence has been this bad, and the reasons are many.
I hate bringing this up, but the scum manager took 7yrs, faced similar calls for his head, and all at a time when competition was'nt as fierce.
Jose...i agree.

It's interesting to see that this thread has 27 posts so far and aside from Reece (who doesn't want Rafa to go) no one has come up with any suggestions. For all the stick Rafa has been getting the last few weeks and all the suggestions he should go, it still looks as though there is no-one able to find anyone more suitable for the jobThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We always get the stubborn managers, eh? Rafa can't go, but sometimes I'd like to feel a bit more in the loop, if Rafa could state which players are out and for approximately how long, it would maybe ease the pressure from fans and the media.
Then there has been criticism against him for fielding Voronin and Degen but since every other player was out who could he play? Moronic to say the least.
And now he has to sell players to fund other players' contracts (Babel -> Reina) so he is working under the most difficult constraints in the league IMO.
And no, I don't have any suggestions, Cappello and Hiddink have been working with big squads with good players, we have good players but a small squad which is shrinking - they would never be interested.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Totally disagree - IMO the Liverpool Managers job will interest the very best from all over the world despite our off the pitch issues.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostWe always get the stubborn managers, eh?
